A sacrifice was happening in the middle of a grass field. A big bear lay pliantly, surrounded by autumn flowers that a small bear, a cherub, and a blazing salamander brought from the garden. They chanted a ritual of indecipherable language, as if praising the sun while dancing around the bear.
"What a wonderful documentary," Sophie commented behind the camera, immortalizing the adorable ritual.
As to what the ritual was meant to be, no one knew. Not even the ones doing that, nor the one getting sacrificed.
"I don't think this is what people do during camping," Eugene chuckled.
"Eh--we still cook the whole meal on a portable stove," Ashley shrugged. "And they might sleep in the tent tonight."
Eugene arched his brow skeptically, and Shirley laughed sweetly in response. "At least until they get scared and run back."
