Chapter 153 - Brokering.

Tsunade's eyes narrowed.

"How will you do that?"

Haruto laughed, "Although I shouldn't tell you this because you might steal it from me and then claim it as your own research… I'll still tell it to you because I trust you."

Tsunade's brows twitched.

But Haurto didn't give her the time to react any further since he began speaking.

"I plan to use the very machines you won from your fight with Hanzo the Demigod."

"Computers?" Tsunade asked with a little confusion.

Haruto nodded, "Precisely. Computers currently in Konoha work as individual machines. But what if they could be connected with each other? What if they could be connected over vast distances without any hassle?"

"Connected… Hmm…" Tsunade mumbled slowly as if projecting her mind to see how such a thing would be possible. "As far as I know, such experiments have already been carried out before.

People have attempted to use seals to merge machines and chakra but failed."

"My method bypasses the need for sealing." Haruto said proudly.

"I wish to use shadow clones that can withstand short bursts of electricity to communicate in the language of computers to transmit information."

"Huh?" Tsunade's lips tightened. "Shadow clones? Short burst of electricity? Communicate with each other? Hold on… slow down."

"What are you confused about?" Haruto asked patiently.

"What do you mean you want the shadow clones to communicate using short bursts of electricity?" Tsunade asked politely.

Haruto nodded and began explaining to Tsunade the basics of how computers functioned, "Computers work on binary. That is zero or one. If a wire has electricity in it that is one and if it doesn't that's zero."

"Ho… and what does it have to do with communication? And shadow clones?"

"Binary can be used to communicate information much like a code. Each letter is assigned a number and when two machines know which letter is which number they can simply share the numbers to share the information.

This can be done by connecting two computers with wires, but as you can imagine, in our world laying down such wires is quite risky since they can be tampered with by rogue or enemy nation shinobi."

"And your solution with clones prevents that?" Tsunade interrupted.

Haruto nodded. "My idea is simple, pass the electricity through the clone, if it gets shocked the number is one and if not it is zero. Then using a communication jutsu the clones communicate with each other."

Tsunade's eyes first widened before she immediately frowned in distaste.

Shizune noticed Tsunade's reaction and asked politely, "What happened, Tsunade-sama?"

Tsunade ignored Shizune's question and spoke directly to Haruto, "Do you even realise what you're asking me to do?"

Haruto smiled, "Aren't you the perfect person to do it though?"

Tsunade frowned, "How am I the perfect person to ask the Yamanaka clan to give up their secret jutsu?"

"Didn't the Senju Clan dissolve into the village to help the village grow stronger? They reaped the benefits of the dissolution, so you as the Senju princess are only coming to collect the fees from them?

What's wrong with that?"

Tsunade frowned at that.

"That is not how any of this works…" Tsunade said bluntly, causing Haruto's smiling face to fall instantly.

"Why not? Did you sign a contract with them saying that you will not ask them for anything in return for marrying the remaining Senju?"

Tsunade pouted in annoyance.

"I'm telling you that's not how it works you brat!

Why would the Yamanaka compensate me for something that has already happened? It's not like I can remove the Senju blood flowing through their veins now if they refuse to give me the jutsu.

The only thing it will do is sour my relationship with them by asking them to share their top secret jutsu."

Haruto frowned. "So you're saying you have no leverage."

"Hmpf. Come to me when you have a better idea."

"Hold on just a minute, don't dismiss me just yet.

What if we give the Yamanaka a share in the business that develops from inventing the internet? And what if we let them create the clones so that the information regarding the jutsu is still a secret."

"Hmm…" Tsunade frowned. Her hands brushed against each other as she pondered for a few seconds. "How will you control them from forming their own 'internet' and displacing us entirely once they get a handle on things?"

Haruto licked his lips. "We'll have to be a little ruthless in that regard then.

Can't we create a physical wire based internet within Konoha and leave the shadow clone internet to them for those that travel outside Konoha?

This way if they attempt to replace us we'll have an already working fall back within Konoha that we can sell to everyone. And since it doesn't need any Yamanaka, our rates will be cheaper too."

Tsunade closed her eyes for a while to try and poke holes in the idea but the more she thought about it, the more she realised the remaining problems were all minor and could be solved by her easily.

When her eyes opened after that, they shone with ryo.

"How quickly can you create a prototype?" Tsunade asked.

Haruto smiled and calmly responded, "As quickly as you can set up a meeting between me and the Yamanaka because I have the shadow clone jutsu required for recognising electric shock ready."

"Ho… alright then let's go right now."

"Right now?" Haruto felt a little surprised. "Won't we be… intruding…?" Haruto asked softly.

"Why are you so shy all of a sudden!?" Tsunade sneered, slapping her thigh, "The Yamanaka Clan head will be eager to learn of a prospect to earn more money.

Don't you want to earn more money?

Isn't that why you brought this to me in the middle of the day when I was resting?"

Haruto looked at Tsunade and felt slightly baffled.

"You surely don't delay in matters of money."

"Then let's go!" Tsunade hurriedly stood up and began walking towards the door prompting Shizune and Haruto to follow her.

They walked through the streets of Konoha and for the first time Haruto realised just how respected Tsunade actually was.

People often stopped by on the streets just to greet her and ask her if she was well before continuing on for the day.

It seemed tiresome to Haruto, but Tsunade handled such questions kindly and patiently until they arrived at the Yamanaka clan compound.

The guards didn't dare stop her as they realised who she was so there was no legendary face slapping moment, they simply asked her a single question, "Why have you graced us with your presence Tsunade-hime?"

"Tell Inoichi that I have something to discuss with him." Tsunade said before she Shizune and Haruto were all led to a spacious hall in one of the main clan buildings.

As soon as Haruto sat down in seiza however he noticed a sweet little blond girl peeking her head into the room, her gaze focused not on him but entirely on Tsunade who appeared completely serious.

Haruto poked Tsunade's sides, drawing her attention towards the little girl who was staring at her with such intensity that it seemed like she'd eat her up.

Tsunade smiled.

"Hehe~ Welcome Lady Tsunade." the girl giggled and whispered before running away with the gentle pitter patter of her feet striking the wooden floor.

"Ho… it seems you've already met my little princess." A handsome man with long blond hair in a pony tail entered the room from the other door and smiled gently while looking in the direction the little girl had run away.

"She's growing up well Inoichi." Tsunade said softly.

Inoichi nodded before asking, "Thank you Tsunade-sama, but what did you have to discuss with me on such short notice?"
