Chapter 149 - Godly Pull.

Haruto looked at his workstation with a frown.

"How do I combine chakra with a computer?"

"Is there any relevant work done on this beforehand?"

Haruto got up from his seat and walked in a particular direction before stopping in front of a research station placed behind a lot of seals.

Haruto watched as the man inside the seals was constantly heating up a particular piece of metal and folding it before smashing it to thin it down.

Eventually, after a few minutes, the metal suddenly snapped causing the man to throw a fit and toss the metal into the garbage bin.

All this happened silently, presumably because of the seals as Haruto guessed.

The man then noticed Haruto and became visibly embarrassed before quickly emerging from behind the seals and speaking.

"Haruto-kun! Long time no see! Don't mind me just now, I was just frustrated that my research didn't work out."

"Arakawa-san…" Haruto greeted with a nod and a smile before speaking, "I'd like to know if previous research has been carried out in my field before, is there a way I can do that?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, you can, you just need to go to the receptionist and ask her for the research catalogue. It holds titles about all research separated by category.

When you want to read something, submit the request to her and she'll have it delivered to you."

Haruto nodded his thanks before making small talk, "Arakawa-san… by the way what are you working on?"

Arakawa pushed his spectacles up and sighed, "I am working on trying to dramatically reduce the amount of chakra metal it takes to make chakra weapons. If my theory is right it should reduce by up to ninety percent."

Haruto's mouth formed an 'o'.

"But I just can't seem to get the darn thing right yet." Arakawa sighed again.

Haruto nodded and asked Arakawa another question, "If I'd propose a joint research with you, would you mind accepting?"

"Oh? What do you want to do?" Arakawa asked, immediately interested.

"Remember I told you I wanted to combine chakra with machines." Haruto asked and Arakawa nodded.

"Well, I think I'll be needing some custom hardware for it. With you working in material sciences, I was wondering if you could fabricate a few simple chips."

Arakawa's tone turned serious and he asked a question in return.

"How small are the chips we're talking about? Because the smallest we've been able to make are the size of three thousand and five hundred transistors. Anything smaller and we've failed miserably."

Haruto frowned, that was about the level of an early 8-bit processor, entirely too little for what he was planning to do with computers and chakra.

'I guess I'll just have to make do with it for now.'

Haruto nodded and said simply, "That will have to do then. Do you know anyone good with sealing? Specifically seals that allow one to decompose energy into chakra? Specifically lightning into chakra?"

Arakawa pinched the bridge of his nose and thought for a second before frowning, "As far as I'm aware…" he started speaking, "...there is no such seal."

Haruto frowned again so Arakawa explained further.

"I've dabbled in seals myself and decomposing energy into chakra is not possible because pure energy is fundamentally different from chakra, after all pure energy does not contain spiritual energy."

Haruto's frown deepened, "But don't shinobi control elements to create powerful jutsu? For example, in water release water dragon bullet jutsu?"

"Ah. I see where the misunderstanding stems from." Arakawa nodded.

"The shinobi in those jutsu doesn't mix spiritual energy with the element to convert it into chakra, but uses chakra directly to control the element by mixing it with it. This is to bypass nature transformation."

"This is why you don't find fire or wind element shinobi performing jutsu using external elements since they'll basically have to control chakra and mould air which is several times harder than earth and water."

"Hmm… I see…" Haruto nodded, "In that case what about converting chakra into elements, why is that possible but the inverse is not?"

"Well… I don't know the real reason since it is a highly guarded secret. But those that have tried to convert elements into chakra have died gruesome deaths.

After a few researches during the time of the Second Hokage, no one has pursued such research again and they are disallowed by every Hokage ever since."

Haruto's mouth formed an 'o' again.

'That's probably because of nature chakra right?'

'Did people even die? Or did Tobirama cleverly set up fake experiments to prevent people from trying out sage mode without going to the Holy Lands?'

'Hmmm…'

"I see…" Haruto nodded, "It seems my idea isn't really feasible then…"

"No worries Haruto-kun, at least I saved you the trouble of experimenting and failing on your own like me." Arakawa said with a smile.

Haruto smiled too and after a few more pleasantries went back to his desk leaving Arakawa to finish his research.

"Did you listen to that Tobirama? Can you send me sealing knowledge and knowledge about Sage Mode?"

Haruto waited for a few seconds, looking at the uninteresting ceiling for a while before sighing in defeat.

"You're rather arrogant. But you don't seem to realise that it will be the end of you."

Haruto closed his eyes at that point and entered his Template Inventory Space.

"Alright people, are you ready to welcome another guest?"

"Make it another girl Haruto!!! Girl power!!!" Megumin cheered, causing Unohana to smile.

Grindelwald spoke up, uncharacteristically, "I hope it is another person like me… a friend from my world perhaps?"

"I'd like Minion too…" Megamind whispered.

"I'll try." Haruto nodded before moving into the Template Roulette Area once again.

The white gloved hands were before him once again, this time shuffling cards in front of him but each card had at least a golden glint to it.

Haruto had currently completed seven missions whose reward he hadn't pulled.

"Should I pull those other two missions too? What if I pull all seven one by one, wouldn't that give me a higher chance of getting something higher? After all, it'll be a waste to let it sit until I get three more missions completed."

The hands shuffling the cards nearly fumbled with the cards as Haruto spoke of this.

"So I was right…" Haruto mumbled out loud, "You people were only trying to scam me into accepting a worse deal because you couldn't rapidly find good enough people for me…"

Sigh…

"Fine, I'll do it your way. But only partially. I'll pull five at once, but from now on each time I have extra cards I'm pulling those cards too regardless."

The hands seemed to have found their confidence again and began shuffling the cards seamlessly.

"Let's do the two cards first."

The cards in the gloved hands changed instantly into the standard deck with copper cards and bronze cards.

Haruto eyed a specific gold card and said "Stop!"

A silver card flipped through the air and stopped on the side of the table but the gloved hands kept shuffling the cards through the air.

Haruto eyed another gold card and shouted "Stop." but this time he wasn't as lucky since a copper card appeared from the pile and planted itself face down at the desk.

"A copper card…" Haruto looked at it with disgust. "Just how terrible is your service for it to be a copper card."

The gloved hands didn't respond to his insult.

"Fine… let's get it over with the gold cards!"

Suddenly the deck in the gloved hands shifted into a deck filled with at minimum gold cards.

"Alright. You can stop anytime you see fit."

The gloved hands stopped at once and all of a sudden a gold card flew out of the pile and arrived face down in front of him.

Haruto then watched as the gloved hands flipped all three cards at once!

"HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! GODLY PULL!!! ALL THREE!!!"
