Walkin:
"You'll go and pick them up, right?" I asked her as I put my phone down.
She stared at me in silence before she started to chuckle.
"Of course I will. I mean, you're way too busy for it," She didn't just say it.
There was a hint of complaint in her voice.
I knew she was bothered, but she was holding herself together so she wouldn't reveal her true emotions.
Once again, hope stirred inside me.
"Oh, I am so sorry for that," I replied, rubbing the back of my neck. "It's just very important."
I kept my tone gentle, not over-exaggerating.
"What is it? What is so important anyway? My brother has given you an off day, hasn't he?" she remarked.
I could hear the annoyance in her tone.
Sometimes, she could be very heartbreaking.
She had a way of speaking that could break my heart.
I straightened my posture and stretched my neck.
"Actually, it is– I found my mate the other day. We've been talking back and forth,"
That was all I said before I heard her grunt loudly.
