"Aren't you continuing the cosplay outfit?"
Seeing that Gojo Satoru had stop sewing, Yukino put away her thoughts and asked calmly.
It's look like the costume was already about one-third finished.
From her perspective, the logical thing to do was obvious—Finish it in one go!
Gojo, however, raised his index finger and shook it slowly.
"No.No.No." His tone was serious. "If you treat sewing cosplay costumes as work, it will become tiring. I am only doing this as a hobby to help my adorable students out of kindness of my pure heart!"
He leaned back lazily in his chair as he continue in the same tone, "So in order not to exhaust myself, I work a bit… then I rest a bit. Balance."
Yukino narrowed her eyes. "Isn't that just your usual excuse to be lazy?"
"Hey."
"Hey what?"
She didn't even have the energy to properly complain anymore.
No matter how nicely he phrased it, the core meaning was the same— I am afraid of being tired and pefers slacking!
After adjusting her skirt slightly, Yukino stood up gracefully.
"It's past five. I should head home and prepare dinner."
Gojo blinked. "You're leaving already?"
"Yes."
He folded his arms and smiled faintly. "Wouldn't you like to stay and have dinner? My cooking is excellent, you know. Possibly the best food you've ever eaten in your life! If you miss it tonight, there might not be a next time."
The best in her life? Are you saying that my cooking is bad!
The sheer arrogance in that sentence made a faint vein appear on Yukino's forehead.
As she smiled sweetly. "Really? That's unfortunate. The best food I've ever eaten was cooked by myself."
She tilted her head slightly as she continue with the same sweet smile, "Bragging may not be illegal in this country, Gojo-sensei, but that doesn't mean you should overdo it. Gojo-sensei~"
"Believe it or not," Gojo replied smugly, "that's your loss."
He stood up, walking out of the room to remove the tuxedo jacket and changing back into his usual casual clothes.
Inside the study room, Yukino crossed her arms as she tsked.
Fine.
She would not go home.
She would stay.
If someone dared challenge one of her strongest field—Cooking and housekeeping—She absolutely could not back down!
.....
6:00 PM.
The living warm,
Three girls sat on the sofa.
While, Vanilla lay sprawled on the floor, sleeping again. She really just eats and sleeps every day!
Sometimes Gojo genuinely wondered if Umaru had influenced the cat too much.
Their daily routines were disturbingly similar....
At the end of the sofa, Benio Adashino appeared to be watching television.
In reality—
She was communicating internally with Kinako.
"Benio-sama… I want to come out. It's too stuffy in here. And Gojo-sama made braised carp tonight. I want to eat it."
Kinako's voice sounded pitiful.
"No!" Benio replied mentally, her voice firm. "Yukino is still here. If you suddenly appear, it will scare her."
"But I can pretend to be a cat!"
"…What?"
"I can meow. I'm very convincing!"
Benio imagined Kinako's form paired up with the fake cat meowing. Causing her entire body to shuddered.
"Absolutely not!"
"I can pretend to be a fox then—"
Before Kinako could finish—Benio quietly sealed him with spiritual power.
The world around Kinako suddenly went dark.
"Benio-sama has changed… she doesn't love me anymore…Sniff! Sniff! "
Meanwhile—
Yukino sat in the middle of the sofa, occasionally glancing toward the kitchen.
The sound of sizzling oil, the fragrance of soy sauce, couple with rich aroma of simmering meat.
"…It smells good."
She muttered unconsciously.
Umaru, sitting beside her heard her and immediately straightened slightly. She couldn't help but feel proud.
Of course it smells good, my Onii-chan's cooking was undeniably the best!
In fact—
Umaru had once suspected that if Gojo ever quit teaching at Sobu High School, he could open a restaurant and make a fortune!
Half an hour later—
Gojo carried the final dish, placing it on the dinner table. He removed his pink apron, as he shouted.
"Umaru! Benio! Yukino! Dinner's ready!"
The three girls stood up almost at the same time.
Even Vanilla, who had been asleep moments ago, suddenly sprang to life.
"Meow!"
She dashed toward the dining table, she seemed to have realize what today's dinner is.
Tonight's Gojo had made a total of five dishes and one soup.
Braised carp.
Braised pork ribs.
Boneless chicken feet.
Mapo tofu.
Coco cola chicken wings.
Vegetarian meatball soup.
The table looked surprisingly luxurious.
"Meow! Meow!"
Vanilla circled Gojo's legs anxiously.
This made the "cat lover'' Yukinoshita Yukino know immediately that this was a cry that indicated that she was hungry.
Looking at the anxious kitty, Yukino said softly.
"She's hungry."
"I know."
Gojo crouched down and picked up a small bowl he had prepared earlier.
Inside were small pieces of rib meat and shredded coco cola chicken wings—boneless and safe for a kitten.
He placed it on the floor a little far from the main table.
Vanilla rushed forward and began eating enthusiastically.
Watching the cat eat so happily, Yukino suddenly remembered the cat food she had brought earlier.
"I feel like the bag of cat food I brought was unnecessary."
"No, it wasn't." Gojo said without hesitation, as he began serving rice into bowls. "Sometimes I trend to oversleep. So, on those days, Vanilla has to eat cat food. I don't trust takeout for her. Even if I order something, she can only eat a little."
Yukino shot him a glare. "And you have the nerve to say that you would take care of Vanilla! The poor kitty is really suffering because of you!"
Gojo rolled his eyes at Yukino.
What does that even mean? Hadn't she noticed? Vanilla was at least twice as plump compared to when they first met!
That was careful feeding done by him!
It was because of his proper care. He absolutely did not neglect her.
They sat down to eat in silence.
Only the sound of chopsticks could be heard.
Yukino took a bite of braised pork ribs — The meat was tender, the meat as if melting inside her mouth, the flavor soaked deep into the fibers. It was rich and not greasy at all.
Then she moved to the mapo tofu— it was hot and spicy.
Her expression remained calm as she continue to eat them gracefully.
But internally—
She was surprised, very surprised. She had expected decent.
But she clearly didn't expect something this delicious from the narcissistic lazy teacher.
Even, though it is very delicious—she refused to praise him verbally.
Absolutely not!
If she did—
Gojo's ego would probably expand beyond the height of her apartment!
So she simply continued eating.
Quietly.
Gojo watched her from the corner of his eye, hiding his smirked. He didn't need verbal praise just to know that she liked his food.
Her continued chopstick movements were proof enough and expression were prove enough—no matter how much she tired to stay indifferent.
The meal lasted nearly half an hour.
Even Benio, couldn't help taking second servings of the cola chicken wings.
Umaru ate enthusiastically but still maintained her refined posture since Yukino was still here. Maintaining her diligent persona was getting exhausting.
After the four of them finished eating, Gojo naturally stood up to begin clearing the table.
However—
He wasn't alone.
Umaru stood as well, as she said in a gentle voice. "I'll help."
She who is usually the laziest and like plays games while lying down after eating, is forced to do the work if she wish to maintain her persona.
Benio rose quietly. "I'll do the dishes."
Yukino hesitated briefly. Then she also stood as she began clean up the table.
Soon—
The kitchen became unexpectedly lively.
Umaru drying dishes carefully, while also focusing on not ruining her persona.
Benio scrubbing the dishes with awkward movement.
While, Yukino organizing utensils neatly.
Even Vanilla sat nearby, licking her paws contentedly.
