I watched as Aldrik's hands glowed brighter, the blue light intensifying until it was almost too much to look at directly.
The flames didn't just stop... they began to shrink. Pulling back from the windows, retreating from the walls, being forced down and down until they were nothing but embers and ash.
The fire died.
For a moment, there was absolute silence.
Then the crowd erupted.
"Woah!"
"He stopped it!"
"Did you see that?"
"The fire just... disappeared..."
"What kind of magic—"
Murmurs rippled through the gathered townspeople, a mixture of awe and fear and disbelief. Some stared in awe… strong alphas like him didn't belong in places like Sailcrest.. Others were staring like they'd witnessed something divine.
I barely heard any of it. My eyes were fixed on the building... still smoking, still groaning under its own weight. Parts of the upper floor had collapsed inward, charred beams visible through gaps in the walls.
