***Cassius***
After Aldrik left, I stood in my shop surrounded by the lingering scent of his pheromones and tried to focus on preparing for the day.
It wasn't working.
My mind kept circling back to breakfast. To the way Aldrik had swept my floors like it was the most natural thing in the world. To how our hands had touched when he'd taken the broom, the rag, small moments of contact that had sent electricity through me.
To the hug.
I pressed my fingers against my forehead, trying to clear my thoughts. That hug had been... unexpected. Aldrik had just moved, wrapping his arms around me with such obvious joy that I'd frozen.
But then I'd felt his warmth, smelled his scent surrounding me, and my body had remembered.
Not tenderness, we'd never had that during our marriage.
