But what happens when a man has become so broken that he becomes blind to this truth? 

Instead, he has convinced himself of the madness, that existence itself is a flaw, an impurity that should never have been. What follows next is not understanding, but destruction. He no longer seeks meaning, purpose or the trival vanities that life offers. Instead, he seeks erasure, not only of himself, but of all things.

That man is Wu Zhe.

He is a man who has lived two lives, one as a mortal on Earth, the other as the strongest being in Yunluo. Feared by all, entire realms united to bring an end to his madness. Alone, he stood against them all, facing the collective might of countless realm, and in the end, he perished.

But death was not his end.

Xu Shazi slowly straightened, the vein on his forehead faintly pulsing.


"Master," he said carefully, forcing a stiff smile, "are you certain?"


Wu Zhe gaze landed on Xu Shazi. "Are you doubting my judgment?"


"I dare not!" Xu Shazi lowered his head, though his eyes flicked once more toward Huo Jian. "I simply just cannot see the use in this brat."


Huo Jian crossed his arms, scoffing. "Speak for yourself you bum."


Another vein throbbed on Xu Shazi's forehead.


Wu Zhe exhaled lightly. "Enough. If the two of you cannot coexist peacefully, then both of you can begone from my presence."


Huo Jian clicked his tongue but said nothing more. Xu Shazi clasped his hands behind his back, his posture straight, though the irritation in his eyes hadn't fully faded.


Wu Zhe stepped forward, stopping in front of Huo Jian. For a brief moment, he simply observed him from above.


"You said you were saving money for cultivation techniques, correct?" Wu Zhe asked.
