Chapter 287 - Wakanda Wages the Most Primitive War with the Most Advanced Weapons

It was clear that after the civil war, Captain Rogers had hidden Vision here to keep Tony Stark from finding him. Over time, Vision had gradually managed to survive in this place.

Anyone could figure it out with a little thought.

Tony Stark understood as well, but he chose to remain silent. The impulsive, betraying decision he'd made in his rage was entirely different from his calm response later—they weren't the same thing.

Sometimes, whether for friendship or a greater cause, one had to learn to turn a blind eye.

In the scene, everyone was preparing, and the palpable atmosphere of impending storm was overwhelming.

The scene shifted to Vision lying on a platform, undergoing a scan.

"This is a polymorphic architecture of polycrystals!" Princess Shuri, Black Panther T'Challa's sister, exclaimed in astonishment.

As a super-genius, she seemed genuinely surprised to encounter such a complex structure. Her curiosity was piqued, especially when the Mind Stone was completely scanned.

"Exactly, we need to operate on each neuron individually!" Bruce Banner explained to Princess Shuri.

"Why not just re-code the neural synapses and operate simultaneously?" Princess Shuri asked.

"Because... we didn't even consider that possibility!" Bruce Banner admitted directly. He wasn't an expert in this field; he was a physicist with only a superficial understanding of coding.

"This technology..." Tony Stark observed Princess Shuri's scanning and holographic projection techniques, and had to admit they were quite impressive.

The sophistication of Wakandan technology was evident even from this brief glimpse.

Though he'd never considered himself the only brilliant mind in the world, he had to concede that this young woman was truly remarkable.

What was even more astonishing was that such an advanced nation existed in an African country. Technologies that the outside world called "black tech" seemed almost commonplace here.

"You've all done your best!" Princess Shuri said calmly.

"And can you do it?" Wanda asked, her voice trembling.

She was terrified. Her lover's life was at stake, and they had only just confirmed their relationship. How could they be torn apart like this?

"Yes, but there are two trillion neurons here. Any tiny deviation could cause a cascading disorder in the circuits!" Shuri tried to explain to everyone. "I need time, Brother!"

"How much time?" Captain Rogers asked, rubbing his temples.

"As much as possible!"

Shuri didn't know how much time she would need, only that the more time she had, the better.

But at that moment, an alarm blared. Thanos's army had arrived.

A massive spaceship pierced the atmosphere and crashed directly above Wakanda, only to be blocked by the energy shield in the next instant.

"That's the technology I need!" Tony Stark exclaimed, his eyes shining. He hadn't expected the future—at most a few years away—to have advanced this far.

This was exactly the energy shield technology he wanted. Although his armor was already very sturdy, who wouldn't want an extra layer of security?

Moreover, this technology could be used not only for armor but also for his company and home, ensuring they wouldn't be easily destroyed.

From these details, it was clear that the African nation of Wakanda possessed technology far more advanced than his own. It didn't just rival the United States; it far surpassed it.

"So, did humanity develop civilization from bronze tools, or from vibranium? How could there be such a vast gap?" Bruce Banner couldn't help but ask.

"Under normal circumstances, it's highly unlikely humanity would have invented light shield technology before the interstellar age," he continued. "A nation completely isolated from the outside world, yet so technologically advanced—does that even make sense?"

The others couldn't help but feel speechless. If Wakanda didn't truly exist, they would never have believed it.

This revelation made Nick Fury understand why he had always been considered a king of the underworld on Earth, yet had never known Wakanda was so formidable.

At most, the vibranium circulating in the black market had only informed him of the country's existence—nothing more.

They had hidden their entire nation right under his nose. The energy shield, combined with chameleon-like technology, was enough to conceal this small nation completely.

However, the ships in the footage were merely a fraction of Thanos's fleet. They descended like massive meteorites, a terrifying sight.

These were space transport pods, each containing countless roaring monsters.

Tony Stark, watching the footage, grew visibly grim. This confirmed that Thanos's fleet possessed space-jump technology, allowing them to deploy such a massive force to Earth so quickly to seize the Mind Stone.

His earlier concerns about the Chitauri had not been unfounded. How could a galactic civilization truly be so vulnerable?

As they had suspected, Thanos still feared the Ancient One and Odin, so he only sent the Chitauri to launch a tentative probing attack.

He could have easily launched a full-scale invasion without even needing the Cosmic Cube. After all, they were a genuine interstellar civilization capable of space jumps.

Against such an assault, Earth had no real defenses. After all, it couldn't even be considered a true interstellar civilization.

Facing the incoming Thanos forces, Captain Rogers instructed, "Wanda, the moment the Mind Stone is retrieved, destroy it immediately!"

"No problem!" Wanda replied instantly.

She was also extremely anxious, but she knew that panicking would accomplish nothing.

Meanwhile, Wakanda had already deployed all its combat forces to the city's border, preparing for the major battle.

Then they witnessed a scene that left them speechless: a group of African warriors armed with spears arrived, creating a stark contrast with the advanced civilization they had been preparing to face.

The jarring disconnect left them utterly speechless.

At that moment, they understood why Lin Feng had been so critical.

They would have complained too.

But if Wakanda was this level, wouldn't Atlantis, which was equally renowned, be similar?

This was truly hard to judge!

The battle erupted immediately. After countless transport pods landed, swarms of monsters surged forward, relentlessly assaulting the energy shields. They even sacrificed their lives in the assault, but they didn't care—or rather, these creatures were clearly manufactured for war and felt no fear.

When the monsters' numbers grew overwhelming, the energy shields began to fail. More and more creatures pierced through the defenses.

The monsters charged from all directions, their sheer numbers making it impossible to contain them.

The scene was terrifying.

It became even more bizarre when it appeared the entire defensive line relied on primitive tribesmen armed with spears to hold the line.

Even with advanced energy shields, would they truly be effective against these monstrosities?

However, everyone soon realized they were wrong. The spears could actually fire laser beams, meaning they were a hybrid gun-spear weapon.

"But how do you even aim this thing? Does it have an auto-targeting system?" Hawkeye Barton grumbled.

"This feels just like the Chitauri again," Tony Stark muttered to himself. "Both sides have incredibly advanced technology, but with such advanced tech, couldn't they at least come up with some *normal* weapons?"

The technological gap between the two sides was so vast that no nation on Earth could compare. Yet, despite possessing such astonishing technology, what were they fighting with? Melee combat!

The interstellar warfare everyone had imagined—star destroyers, orbital bombardments, all sorts of sci-fi weapons—was nowhere to be seen.

It looked more like a primitive human battle.

As everyone fell silent, they noticed the tide of battle was turning increasingly against Wakanda, or rather, against Earth.

"Captain, if these monsters get behind us, Vision will be in danger!" Bruce Banner warned.

"So we have to hold them here!" Captain Rogers immediately declared.

The group had no choice but to comply. They activated the energy shields, redirecting the monsters' charge toward their position.

The goal was to buy Princess Shuri as much time as possible for her surgery.

A brutal close-quarters battle erupted as the superheroes led Wakanda's army against the swarming alien forces.

The fighting was visceral and intense, with fists meeting flesh in a chaotic, visually overwhelming spectacle.

Yet something felt wrong.

"Even if they'd breached the defenses, we could have just bombed them!" Tony Stark interjected. "Or at least fired from a distance to thin them out before engaging."

The others couldn't help but nod in agreement. Even those without military experience understood the logic.

"But this is a warrior's honor!" Wonder Woman Diana declared.

The group exchanged glances at Diana, who, after all, was an Amazonian warrior at heart.

Her perspective was certainly unique.
