"How many?" he asked after clearly coming to a decision.
"Well considering that Sin is the single biggest threat your world has, quite a lot. Hundreds at least." I said after a moment of thought.
"You expect me to kidnap hundreds of people for this?" he asked with his tone darkening.
I shrugged "If you use the people of that dream it shouldn't matter since they'll all die the instant Sin is permanently defeated. Besides at most you'll only be temporarily inconveniencing these people. You are perfectly able to release them once you've acquired the copies from them." I said calmly.
"So be it. Tell me how to obtain these copies." he said resolving himself to carrying this burden.
"First I'll pass over the system coins you'll need. These have a few purposes really. The only one you'll have access to however is the contact feature. This allows you to actively open up this lovely little window here to contact me. Doing so pauses time for both our worlds by the way. So if you are ever put in a position where you need to really think about a decision but don't have nearly enough time it's good for giving you that time. Though I'd suggest only doing so in absolute emergencies. With the window opened you just have to sort of will the copies to me and the system will do the rest. I suggest collecting a couple dozen people at a time before doing this to make things faster." I explained seriously.
"For magic that might be possible. Summoners are tightly guarded however, even in this dream." he said frowning deeply.
"Perhaps I'm wrong but if you don't harm anyone really and release them immediately after trading me the copies it shouldn't cause any real changes to the way people act. At most you might cause people to get curious what the point of that is but that's about it. The first few times will probably cause a little bit of a stir though." I said casually.
"Kidnapping is still kidnapping. They'll still chase me down for it." he said sternly.
"And you think a bunch of soft targets like these dream folk can catch you if you don't want to be caught?" I asked with a scoff.
"No. It will still be inconvenient however." he said deeply frowning.
"Tell you what. I'm going to be generous and say fifty summoner copies and two hundred magic copies. That should be more than manageable with such a massive population in that dream city. Oh and do try to make sure at least one of each has the absolute peak knowledge of the two systems. The rest I don't really care about how much they know since those copies wouldn't be for me." I said casually.
"That much I can do, it'll take time though." he said after a moment of thought.
"That's fine, here take the coins first so you can contact me when you are ready." I said before sending him the coins and telling him how to use them.
With that done I let the contact end and saved him to my list for the standard fee of fifty coins. At this point I barely felt any loss at such an amountage with being well on my way towards a million in my inventory. As for the deal I'd struck with Auron, well it was necessary. Despite how rough around the edges the man might be he was genuinely a good person at heart and I knew that this would be the only way to get my hands on the three magic systems of that world.-
To better explain magic in that world had three separate systems that occasionally overlapped but weren't actually one thing. These were black magic, white magic and summoning. Black magic was debuffs and attack magics to put it simply. It mostly relied on four elements that mutually countered each other. Fire countered ice, water counter fire, thunder countered water and ice countered thunder. There was also spells in this type of magic for life draining, mana draining and poison as well as unattributed damage as well.-
White magic was buffs and heals mostly. Standard healing spells, buff spells and a single damaging spell. Neither of these spell systems scaled too high, about the same as the magic in my current world but considerably more limited in versatility. The REAL prize was summoning. Despite what you see in the game this magic system in theory had no real limits. Like the name implied the magic system was based around summoning something to aid you. In the game this was typically the soul powered and created creatures known as Aeons but the lore made it pretty clear you could summon technically anything if you had enough skill and power.-
That was where the dream of Zanarkand came from in fact. A summoner named Yu Yevon preserved the idea, the dream if you will of his beloved city state as a summon. This summoning took an incredible amount of power to maintain. Which he obtained via thousands of Fayth for the summoning and thousands or more souls that came together into the monster known as Sin. Sin would regularly cull the human population to acquire souls for the summoning once the population reached a certain number, like using human souls as crops to be harvested.-
Fayth were statues that held the souls of people willing to become Aeons for the summoning. Catalysts of a sort to manifest the incredibly powerful creatures at a living summoners request. The many Fayth for the summoning of the dream of Zanarkand proved the potential of the magic system as that dream was an illusion made reality. The people within it were born with actual souls, aged, got injured, sick and died just like any real person would. Because summoners manipulated souls to make this happen they were also necessary to send the souls of the unwilling dead to the afterlife lest they cling to a life they no longer have and become monsters.
