Chapter 33 - CHAPTER 33: SITUATION-SHIP

Alex's p.o.v

The brothers officially signed her place in the fae world to her name. It was the best gift ever; her friends gave her a necklace she can use to just teleport her without calling them. That made her laugh, they gave her a home and a house which is something she's grateful for. But now she's to her world and the first person she has to apologies to is Mrs Calum, she was extremely rude and dismissive.

"Mam. Can I please enter."

Her class is empty and Mrs Calum is at her desk writing something before she stops to stare at her. She smiles at her and she nods; she hesitantly enters her class ashamed of her behaviour.

"I would like to apologise for my behaviour."

Mrs Calum smiles and gets up. She straightens her posture; she's not dismayed or upset at her behaviour.

"Fix your posture. Don't apologies for voicing your feelings, if you don't want to be in front of the camera I can go give a speech on behalf of the university."

She nods grateful that her professor is understanding, reasonable and kind. Regardless of who speaks, the university will still be painted in a positive light and will make money.

"Thank you for being understanding. Is there anything else I can do?"

"She would probably love to meet you? You did an incredible think she really wants to express her gratitude." She nods; that's a fair and safe compromise. "I will call you tomorrow and finalise everything."

"Okay. Thank you... bye."

Her lecturer nods and she walks out glad that she cleared the air. She spoke to her friends already and they are fine by her abrupt attitude. They know her relationship with her mother is strain because she allowed her to be bullied. They don't know the specifics because it is embarrassing but they know enough to understand why she shut down or disappear.

"Alex. Alex."

She turned to see Noah walking behind her. She stopped walking mostly due to shock, she thought she scared him off. He moved close but made sure not to touch her as his eyes fell on her body. She's not uncomfortable because she can his concern out way desire.

"I'm fine, I am a werewolf you know."

"Okay. Let's go grab something to eat."

She nods, she enjoys the platonic time she spends with him even though there was a voice in her head telling her, her feelings are insane. Noah as usual ordered what looks to be half the menu and all she ordered was a chicken salad. Compared to the 6,1ft alpha she rests just below 5'5ft and had to eat proportionately because her ass especially enjoyed not cooperating. So, seeing him gorge his face with arguably good food and kept offering her some to taste, declining was getting harder, so she huffed.

"Common it's good trust me. Here. Take a bite. I will even feed you. Common."

"Stop it! I already have enough on my plate."

"I am just offering you more, your dish barely has food."

"I said I'm fine stop offering me food."

"Okay. Okay. Fine. Pardon me for wanting you to take care of yourself."

"And here I thought I am a doctor. Ah. I'm sorry. Uhm. Thank you. I am just not used to anyone caring this much about me. Thank you, I will have some but if I get fat you will pay for my gym membership."

"Deal. You now have someone who wants to give you the world now."

"I do not what the world."

"Then what do you want?"

"It does not matter. Mmm the chicken here is delicious."

"It matters because you matter to me."

Face flushed her gaze did not rise to attention; she cannot raise her head to face him. Her eyes could not meet his and all she was in fact able to do was lightly kick his shin. Exaggerating his injury, he manages to make her laugh and actually forget where they were. Realizing his break for an hour was over she groaned internally despising time, but she could not bear her vulnerability, so she waited for the man to leave.

"Alex. This week we have our annual exams and then next week we finally end the Moon thing. I will try to see you when I can. So, for good luck, do you not want to give me a kiss?"

"Do you want me to kick you again?"

"For your lips I will take two."

"No."

"Seriously. Your kiss will give me luck with my tests and you finally agreeing to go out with me will make me the Moon of 2019 for the engineering faculty."

"A kiss or agreement does not make that happen it is simply impossible."

"Then let us defy the odds together."

"No."

"Please a kiss on the cheek will be enough. I have to go study group that starts in five minutes, but I will not leave until you agree."

"Fine. You are giving me a headache now. I will but, you are not allowed to enjoy it."

"I promise nothing."

Alex slowly leaned in and when she was closed enough to breathe in his woodsy aroma. Her breath so close tickling the tender skin, lips so close to their destination, his skin anticipatedthe drop. Blowing in his ear successfully fighting the urge to bite it seductively. Damn that could not happen because the damned alpha will not leave her alone if she were to succumb to her biological instincts. Before Noah could react, she planted a kiss, which did not surpass three seconds but felt long enough that their world got restored. To think, she said she never wanted the world... she was probably right, she wants his and that really scared her.

"Wow. I have never been so turned on from a kiss on my cheek before. My, my Alex. We are bound to have fun."

Kicking him again she got up and walked away. Since Leo was nowhere to be seen she went to Lucas room knowing Toby would also be focusing on his studies.

"Come in."

Alex stepped into one of her best friend's sunlit apartments. The place was painted a soft baby blue, and there were so many windows she couldn't figure out how anyone managed to sleep in there.

"Toby?" she called out, carefully, not wanting to walk in on something... couple-y. She tiptoed forward, pausing every few steps just to be sure she wasn't intruding.

"His place," Lucas replied, glancing up from his notes. "I'm just catching up on readings. Unlike you, I don't have a photographic memory."

"No, don't even go there," she grumbled, dropping her bag by the door. "I just work smart, not hard."

"Yeah, yeah. Where's Leo?"

"I have no idea," she said with a shrug. "But judging by the look he gave Jayden or the way he said his name I'm guessing he's still busy fending off Jayden's advances."

Lucas gave her a look. The kind that said: oh, sweet, clueless Alex.

"My innocent friend. My incredibly naive, stupid friend," he sighed. "Have you seen either of them since we got back?"

She paused, brow furrowing. "No… oh. Shit. You don't think—"

"Oh, I do. If Leo was ever fighting it... let's just say he surrendered."

Alex groaned and flopped dramatically onto the couch. "And somehow I have to work adequately hard to stay top of our class." Lucas added shaking his head mockingly.

"Technically," she said, pretending to squint at the invisible scoreboard in her head, "we're both sitting at 98.89%. But yes, you are marginally smarter."

She gave him a playful shove before yawning. "Move over. I just want to sleep."

"So," he said, giving her a side glance, "you and Noah finally?"

"No." She sighed, a little too quickly. "Leo's gone ghost mode and... sometimes I just hate being alone for too long. You get it, right?"

Lucas softened. "Of course I do, Lex. I was just teasing. Come in I'll be quiet. Promise."

"Thank you."

"Don't mention it."
