Chapter 159 - Chapter 158: Quick Spar with Pietro

"What about me?" Pietro asked Kakashi as he saw Kakashi giving advices to everyone.

"What about you what?" Kakashi asked back. He tilted his head slightly.

"How can I improve? Give me some tips too." Pietro said as if he was a jealous girlfriend. He crossed his arms and stuck out his lower lip.

"You gave everyone some tips but me. Cyclops gets new eye tricks. Storm gets weather ideas. Logan gets told he charges in too much. Even Jean gets told to practice more. What about me? The fastest guy here? Do I not get any love?"

Kakashi looked at him for a moment. He could see the mix of pride and insecurity in Pietro's posture. The young man wanted to be noticed. Wanted to be the best. Wanted to hear he was special.

Kakashi had seen that look before. Many young shinobi had worn it. Some had grown from it. Some had broken because of it.

'But this guy is almost my age just a couple years younger. Can't he be more mature? Or maybe this is all an act.' Kakashi thought

"I have not seen your ability," Kakashi said. "I would have to spar with you to realise what are your weaknesses and what you have to work on."

Pietro's face lit up. His grin grew so wide it almost split his face. "Well, I am up for it. But once we are done, I don't think that you would be able to tell any of my weaknesses. In fact, it might be me who might have to tell you areas where you have to improve."

Kakashi smiled underneath his mask as he replied back, "We will see."

He internally thought, 'Let's hope that he has something more than being very fast. Otherwise, there are various ways to deal with him. Primarily just changing the battlefield with an earth style mud jutsu so that he would not be able to use that speed to that advantage. I should avoid that during the fight or using Kamui that would be overkill.'

The other Avengers and X-Men stepped back to give them space.

Before the spar could start, Kakashi already wielded hand signs for a jutsu knowing that he might not have enough time to do it after the spar started. His fingers moved in a quick blur.

'Earth Style: Earth Spear Jutsu,' Kakashi used Kakuzu's jutsu as his skin underneath his vest and gloves turned black.

The jutsu increased his durability. Made his body tough enough to take hits that would break normal bones.

As the spar started, Kakashi also had his Sharingan open. The red eye spun slowly.

Despite that he could not track the man who was already next to him and was aiming a punch to his shoulder. Pietro disappeared from sight. One moment he stood five meters away. The next moment he was right beside Kakashi. The punch came fast. Too fast. Kakashi saw only a silver blur. His Sharingan caught the motion. Barely. His body could not keep up even with that.

'Faster than Raikage. Way faster. It is almost as if I am fighting sensei,' Kakashi thought.

Pietro's speed was something that looked equal to instant teleportation. His Sharingan made it a little easy but Kakashi's body or his nervous system was not fast enough to react to even that. The punch landed. Pietro's fist connected with Kakashi's shoulder. A sound of crack came. Not from Kakashi. From Pietro.

Pietro erupted in a shout of pain. "What the hell!!!!"

He pulled his hand back like he had touched fire. He shook it wildly. He blew air on his fingers that might have some broken bones. His face twisted in pain. His fingers looked swollen already. Red marks bloomed across his knuckles.

"What are you made of?" Pietro said in pain. He cradled his hand against his chest. He stared at Kakashi like he could not believe what just happened.

"Human bones," Kakashi replied back as Pietro shot him a glare.

Kakashi thought, 'I think that I have seen enough.'

He spoke in his usual calm voice. "For the lack of better word, you are too scrawny and your punches do not have enough power behind them. With your speed, you would have managed to hurt me a little if you had enough power behind the strike."

Pietro rubbed his hand. He winced. But he listened.

Kakashi continued. "Along with this you do not even have a Taijutsu style… I mean martial arts style. You are just punching me without any real technique for the sake of it. You could have tried to probe my defenses to find a weak point. You could have aimed for joints. Throat. Eyes. Temples. Places where even a fast punch would do real damage. Instead you went for the shoulder. That is a big target. Easy to block and easy to tank. You need to think before you hit."

Pietro frowned. He looked down at his hand. Then back at Kakashi.

"And lastly, you can increase your lethality even without learning a martial arts style by just using a weapon. From what I have seen, you folks do not hesitate to use lethal measures against others. That Logan dude has metal claws after all. You can use something similar and with your speed, it would be a sure attack that would land and would do large amount of damage on your enemy."

Pietro looked at him and said, "Wow, I would have never thought about that."

He flexed his injured hand slowly. It still hurt. But he smiled. A real smile and not a cocky one.

He then said with a smile, "You are a good guy. Not many would have started teaching people who attacked you know."

Kakashi looked at him. His visible eye curved slightly. "Well I had a student that taught me some things. Chief among them is an eye for an eye makes the world blind."

He remembered the time Naruto talked to Pain after he decimated and killed more than half of the village.

Pain had destroyed Konoha. Killed so many. Naruto had every reason to hate him. To kill him. But Naruto had stopped. He had talked and listened to him.

And at the end of the day, it helped him revive everyone including Kakashi. Naruto had shown Kakashi that sometimes talking worked better than fighting. Sometimes mercy was stronger than hate. Kakashi had carried that lesson ever since.
