**********Harper's pov
I looked at Natalie in shock as she held a dagger in her hands. She seemed shocked at her own action as well.
Tears were streaming down her face as she shooked her head in denial then before I knew it....
She held the dagger up to stab herself.
"Natalie!!"
I snatched the dagger away from her hand before she could.
"Great job, Natalie"
Seraphine said .
So that's what she meant by the last thing.
I felt a spell beneath my feet.
Seraphine started casting a spell and soon, she flicked her hands and.....kael appeared.
His skin had cracked ...a lot and his veins were vividly visible, all red.
His eyes was bloody red and he looked like he wanted to kill.
Seraphine casted another spell and kael stood into it.
"I know the only person you guard will be down against was someone close to you and who's more suitable than your sister".
Seraphine said and used both her hands to hold the formatioms in place.
Kael smiled at me. "You're still useful after all".
I felt my blood boil. If seraphine's formation completed itself then, I'd be a sacrificial lamb.
*Don't let her complete the spell, Harper!*
Seraphina and Ravenna said at the same time.
There was no way I could get out of it. My body felt heavy. I looked helplessly at zareth, who immediately casted a spell but...
"If you even try to do anything, then she'll be gone for good!!". Kael said as he used his hand to pull Natalie, who was now unconscious, close, holding a dagger to her throat.
Ellis, who wanted to cast a spell originally, dropped her spell book immediately and zareth also hesitated.
Seraphine laughed.
"You see Harper, when it comes to you, they'll still hesitate".
I couldn't do anything.
*We have to do something now, there's only an hour left till she finishes the spell*.
Seraphina told Ravenna and following their instructions, I muttered a spell hoping it'll lead to something good but there was nothing.
Kael's skin on the other hand was getting better and he smiled in satisfaction as I felt like my life was being drained.
Am hour passed and just as seraphine was trying to say th last spell....
Someone flug her away, disrupting the spell and breaking the formation.
I gasped in relief as I felt better again.
I looked at the new addition and it was...
"Darius, You?". Ellis said in absolute shock.
Before anyone could react, I grabbed my dagger.
SLASH!
Everyone gasped. The new person chuckled instead.
Kael was the most shocked as he watched his mother hold her bleeding neck and fall to the ground.
"MOTHER!!!!!!"
His eyes was completely bloody now and he turned his gaze towards him.
I looked right back at him feeling no remorse all while holding my stomach. Strangely, I wasn't bleeding again, my wound had clos d but there was blood all over me.
"YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS HARPER!!"
He charged at me with a dagger. I stroked right back and the fight began.
Soon we could hear the sounds of thousands of cries. It was demon soldiers and they were charging at us with full speed.
Kael kept trying to stab me buy I dodged several times. It was as if it was someone else that was fighting with my body.
Ellis, Zareth, and the new person that Ellis called Darius, all fought the demon soldiers together while me and kael continued fighting.
"You're wasting your energy kael. Your mother was dead in the first place and what did you think I'd do to her after all the torture that you both put me through?".
"Shut up! I'm going to kill you! Then, I'll take over the whole realm!".
Kael barked.
"That's what your mother wishes! Don't you get it?". I swung my dagger at him and ended up slashing through his chest.
Seraphine's body had disintegrated.
"I'll kill you to avenge my mother".
"I killed her to avenge myself and as a payback to everything you did to me. You raised me to the highest point by helping me and then you pushed me down so brutally and tried to make me your puppet. You make me sick!".
"I.....I...". Taking advantage of his flustering, I cut him again in his stomach, he coughed up blood.
He slowed down and I took the opportunity to push him. He fell and I was about to stab him.
"Hold on! Why do you think you can still stand here alive? It's because I changed the knife that my mother gave Natalie. If Natalie had actually used the knife my mother intended for her to use them, you'll be dead now".
"What do you mean?". I didn't know if he had as trying to trick me.
"Hah! The dagger my mother used was the same dagger that seraphina had used to stab Ravenna. If Natalie had stabbed you with that then you'll be dead by now".
He had his annoying smirk on again.
"Harper! Don't listen to him!". I could hear Ellis' voice through the battle.
*************In the underworld
Seraphine was kneeling at the feet of Abyssion.
"You had just one task seraphine, and you still failed".
"No, please, don't take kael yet ...I".
"Hahahha! You didn't think I wouldn't know about your plans, right?
I know that you wanted kael to come after my throne, didn't you?".
Abyssion said seraphine's intentions.
"No,no ,no. I'll never do that. That's impossible!".
Seraphine desperately tried to defend herself but Abyssion drew his dagger. It was different from normal daggers and he plunged it in seraphine's head. She turned to dust and blew away.
"Seraphine had lived twice, now, I no longer have the patience to wait for kael. I'm off to get my slave". Abyssion said as he stood up and walked towards the gate that leads to different realms.
*************Harper's pov
The battle was over and all the demon soldiers had been eliminated.
I still had my dagger on kael's chest, ready to stab him but I was distracted and he took that opportunity to push me away.
He stood up but strangely he didn't try to strike me. Instead, he walked backwards.
"What are you doing?". I asked him.
He just kept on smiling.
"I guess I'll go and pay for my sins, Harper ".
"What do you mean?".
Then, a portal opened from the ground. A skeletal hand reached out from it and held kael's legs and slowly, he was being dragged down.
"I'll be back Harper ". He said with a smile as he slowly got dragged down.
I could only look on emotionlessly even when he was gone.
*Are you okay, Harper?* .
Seraphina asked and Ravenna echoed it.
I felt light headed and before I knew it, I plunged into darkness with the last thing I heard being "Harper!!".
It was my mom, Ellis.
