"Let me get this straight, you want to use me as a sacrificial lamb for kael. Why?".
I asked seraphine hoping she'd have a good reason for trying to kill me.
I felt hotter as the fire kept on rising.
"Why not? My son should be the most powerful and take over the whole realm. I've been planning this for a long time and I didn't come back from the dead to fail".
"You...you died before?"
"Yes, I did".
"Does kael support all this too, I mean he's the worst but this?"
"What do you think? That he won't kill you? Do you really think he married you for love?"
"Well tell me about it". I rolled my eyes.
"You're not that important Harper. This is exactly what you are, a mere nobody, you just got lucky, you know. Don't tell me you believed Ravenna and seraphina's nonsense".
How does she know about them though?
I wondered to myself.
*Don't listen to her, Harper* Ravenna's voice rang.
"Just one more thing and you'll be gone". Seraphine laughed evilly as she poured the thing she had been grinding into the fire.
I looked at the chains she used on me and chuckled. It was the same as the one she used on Ellis. She must be pretty stupid to think it can hold me for a long time. I was partly demon now .
My heart felt cold at that realization. I felt like taking a dagger and driving it through her chest and that made me surprised. This must be what Ravenna and seraphina meant when the said I'd lose my emotions.
*Don't listen to her nonsense Harper. She's just trying to make you lose focus, she knows that she's no match for you.* seraphina said to me.
I chuckled out loud and
CLANG!
The chains fell into the fire.
"You...you...
Seraphine was shocked that the chains came off.
"What? You didn't think I'll continue listening to your nonsense, did you?"
"How did you....?"
"I'm a demon too, idiot. Of course your little chains can't hold me down".
I flicked my hands and she flew across the room and straight to the wall,.coughing up blood.
"You really sounded like a stepmom earlier with the negative talk and all. Unfortunately, those don't work on me".
I picked her up by the neck and squeezed it.
I could feel it in my veins, me and my powers were one. I only wanted to strangle her to death but I had to control myself. There was still other things to take care of, such as....kael.
"You really shouldn't have done this".
I said and let go of her neck and she fell down, gasping for air.
"Don't be so smug Harper, you'll be in for a real surprise soon".
I chuckled at her words.
"Sure, seraphine. I'm waiting for it. until then, why don't you fight me".
I raised her up and threw a dagger at her.
"Come on, fight".
*What are you doing Harper? just end her*.
I didn't answer Ravenna. strangely, torturing seraphine felt more fun than just killing her.
"I think it'll be fun if your darling son with his own eyes, sees me killing...YOU. how about that?".
I said as I laughed crazily, finding it hard to believe myself.
"You wouldn't dare! Kael won't let you off!".
"Come on seraphine, FIGHT ME!!".
My eyes were bloodshot and I picked her up drawing out my own dagger.
Just then, she took off the ring she'd been manipulating with her fingers and crushed it on the floor, it emitted a red smoke. I didn't wait for her to talk again and I lunged at her.
**************Author's pov
Vaelthor carrield Natalie and was in the air when her eyes snapped opened again. She suddenly held him and before he knew it, they were descending.
"Natalie! What are you doing?!".
She flung vaelthor away and snapped the chains off her body. Then, she was casting a spell to disappear. Vaelthor could only hold on to the hem of her clothes as they disappeared together.
They ended up in a strange room but it was empty and there was a lot of strange objects in it. A fire was burning in a hole dug up in the ground.
There was signs of struggle in the room.
Natalie looked around and casted another spell and they both disappeared again.
They ended up in an open ground instead.
Two people were sparring with daggers and it was quite obvious that the other was at a disadvantage.
"Harper!"
Vaelthor called out but Harper didn't answer.
Just then, zareth and Ellis appeared there.
"You both are here?".
Ellis was surprised to see vaelthor and Natalie there.
Vaelthor also looked confused and tried to talk to Natalie but she was already approaching Harper who was at still fighting with the disadvantaged seraphine.
"What is she going to do?" Ellis asked zareth.
"I don't know but I have to stop her".
Zareth ran after Natalie but then, she became .....two persons...then three.....four..and soon , there were numerous Natalie's and all charged towards zareth.
Zareth was confused as to which was the real Natalie and couldn't just attack for fear of attacking Natalie herself.
He tried to fight them off but before he knows it....
"Natalie!!!!!!"
"Harper!!!!!!!!"
Blood. Lots of blood was trickling.
Seraphine stopped fighting and laughed crazily.
Natalie had stabbed Harper.
