When only Ryuji and Touka were left in the alley, Touka couldn't help but ask curiously, "Ryuji, were you really human before? How did you become a {Ghoul}?"
"Like that guy, Kaneki Ken—because of organ transplantation," Ryuji replied with an excuse.
Hearing this, Touka Kirishima said again, "No wonder you helped him. Turns out, you've had the same experience."
Of course, the reason Ryuji helped Kaneki Ken was not only related to the task assigned by the system but also because he thought Kaneki might help him in the future to make humans accept {Ghouls} and fulfill the core system objectives.
Inside the shop, Yoshimura began brewing coffee for Kaneki Ken, who sat at the bar in a daze, silent.
Yoshimura didn't speak to Kaneki and quietly brewed the coffee himself.
A few minutes later, Yoshimura finished a cup of American coffee and personally brought it to Kaneki's side.
"Sorry to keep you waiting! Give it a try," Yoshimura said to Kaneki.
After saying that, Yoshimura stood quietly beside him, seemingly waiting for Kaneki's taste and opinion.
Kaneki didn't seem to have the intention to drink the coffee, sitting there like a piece of wood.
"Don't like this cup of American coffee?" Yoshimura asked.
"No, it's just that my body can't handle these things right now," Kaneki answered.
"Don't be afraid. Give it a try! Maybe it will surprise you," Yoshimura continued encouraging him.
Kaneki hesitated for a moment, then picked up the coffee and gulped it down. It looked like he was drinking bitter medicine—drinking it all at once to ease the pain on his taste buds.
But soon, Kaneki felt that this coffee wasn't as bad as he had imagined, which surprised him greatly.
