The weekend's almost hereðŸ˜!!!
"A demon?" Ares pointed out, but his voice carried intrigue rather than disgust.Â
"Does that displease you my lord?" Tala asked with a respectful bow, to the being still flying above while Mercy started cleaning up now.Â
"I only have one request. Take me to Prometheus." Lex said with a glint in his eye.Â
"... Why is that? Do you intend to release him? You will incur father's wrath… hmm, that pleases me but, I hate cunning people like you." Ares said, silently weighing the options. If Lex wanted he could have just tried using that forbidden power on him to do his bidding, he knew that, he knew that Lex knew that, he knew that Lex knows about his desire to be with the dark horse of the upcoming war. There was only so much he could do now, even if he could resist its powers he would be left in a vulnerable state for Lex to do as he pleases.Â
'Fuck, that's it!' Ares eyes glowed purple as purple claw gauntlets appeared on his hand and pulled at thin air before Lex.Â
Tala's eyes shone with worry as she engaged in bout against the Olympian for Lex's soul. A soul battle is nothing mysterious to a demon but rather common place, after all feasting on souls and human blood give them strength. If she was lucky in the three-way, she could obtain both Lex's and an Olympian's soul for the taking!
But alas, she needed to be with Raven, and she believed that Lex was the fastest route to meeting her goddess in person, there was no man more ambitious and egotistical than him after all.Â
Tala's soul left her body hovering with a spell it keep it safe from concussions as she wrestled withe Olympian for Lex's soul. Her soul morphed into that of a four winged demon with a crown on it's head as it pulled back Lex's soul and pushed the Olympian away, much to his surprise.
Lex didn't waste that chance and grabbed hold of the Olympian slammed on the floor next to his desk causing his bodyguard to take cover. Tala returned to her body and was on guard, ready for what came next.
Lex's eyes flashed red much to the horror of Ares, "Submit to me, now." Lex offered as a final offer.Â
"...." Ares nodded, he almost felt something take hold of his being for a fraction of a second.Â
Lex Luthor slapped the Olympian, much to the surprise of the women in the office, "I won't ask, again." Lex said as Ares gritted his teeth and spoke the words.Â
"I submit."
"Now you have the answer to your previous offer. I accept your servitude, now take me to Prometheus." Lex said with a smug look on his face, he had submitted a god to himself.Â
'This much was bound to happen. A warrior should know when to kneel and when to rise. Had I met him a thousand years ago, I might have rebelled in all my wrath and possibly lost my life to that… thing… if he was fast enough to use it before his head topples over. ' Ares thought, his expression bitter but his thoughts calm pushing Lex's arm away and appearing at respectable distance from Lex.Â
"Are we leaving now?" Ares said as he approached the opened office window.Â
'I have always respected Lex Luthor, his genius amazes me. To submit a god? He would have made a fine demon lord, too bad he was born as a lowly human.' Tala thought her smile getting seductive by the second.Â
"Why not?" Lex Luthor said, his aura exuding confidence after his most recent feat and dragged Mercy in a princess carry, a position Mercy protests heavily till Lex could ignore it no longer.Â
"What the hell do you even need me for?" Mercy fought against Lex Luthors hard unmoving body.Â
"Are you not my bodyguard or are you saying that you choose to retire at this moment?" Lex replied, lowering her body to the floor so that she may adjust herself and stand upright given that she was 'busy' moments before. No one likes being interrupted during those 'busy' times.Â
"Look who you have surrounded yourself with, a witch, a league of heroes and villains, even a god is at your service. What do you need of lil old me?" Mercy answered turning her head to the side.Â
"Then run things at the corp for me while I am out saving the world. You know what to do." Lex said without even sparing his bodyguard a glance. She was right, he was no longer someone who needed the protection of a mortal and her position might be vacant in the near future. She bowed her head in understanding but was still somewhat sad to not be needed.Â
"Let the mortal come… although I am sure she already has." Ares grinned his fiery plume on his helmet looking like the sun in Mercy's eyes. To her, it seemed that she had been forgiven of her sins and is being seen as new person to this god, could she have founded a new religion?
"I see you are already taking kindly to your new position, eh, Ares?" Lex Luthor snickered at the god of war, knowing that Ares told him to address him with his title only to be met with laughter from the god.Â
'Strange. I don't sense any malice, hate or subtle killing intent from him, is he really not just a brute… anyway no matter. I have the antilife equation and everything is under my mercy.' Lex thought as Tala cast some spells on Mercy enabling her float essentially, although awkward as for some reason, she felt the need to be overly cautious of herself.
The group flew through the office windows as it automatically shut itself along with its blinds. It was with great difficulty that Mercy tried to keep up as she hadn't flown before, but her fears came to live when she looked down from three hundred and seven stories, it was so disorientating that she immediately fell into a state of panic.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god… heights! Heights… fuckkk!" Mercy cried out as she moved toward the god of war, falling at his feet, but Ares caught her quickly just before.Â
'Mortals, they are all like children. As the adult here, I'll let one of these children have their way now.' Ares nearly smiled at the thought as he held Mercy upright.
"Clumsy. You are clearly not used to flight." Ares said trying to shove the lady away, but Mercy pouted and grabbed his thigh softly, their height difference was rather silly. Ares let her be since he was the one who suggested that she tag along, besides he couldn't help but find that same helplessness of mortals cute given how much he had exploited them back in the day to incite wars.Â
But alas, things were different now, he was sure his father was laughing at his predicament in Olympus, only if he knew what this mortal possessed to put him in such a state.Â
'But, as the saying goes, nothing is permanent. I still have my Olympian pride. To see uncle in this state is going to be embarrassing.' Ares sighed and dropped another drachma coin that dissolved in the sky as a dark chariot appeared again. Tala and Mercy's eyes had the appropriate response, Ares hid a smile, at least these two could appreciate the wonder at their very eyes, although he still was wary toward the demon Tala.Â
Ares nodded toward the undead coachman as if sharing a thought message, the coachman nodded back as if understanding as Ares gestured toward the chariot.
Tala inspected the chariot with an intriguing gaze before she stepped into the chariot so did Mercy, whose eyes widened, at least some of the features within the chariot were familiar earth technology as they all settled in, and the black chariot vanished under the scope of an eye looking through an 'okay' sign with her fingers.Â
"I wonder what baldy is up to?" Harley Quinn said observing her target through her divine senses as she sat on the clouds and her familiars snickered in tandem.Â
