Chapter 49 - Hear my name!

Arthur nodded his head in agreement. "I understand completely." He thought back to a conversation he had with Kagekawa.

The manifestation of one's soul weapon is only something people can experience once dying.

"...I see...so this is what the old man meant," Arthur muttered to himself and then looked directly at the girl staring at him with sharp eyes. "So...you're my soul weapon right?" Arthur asked.

"Haaaaaaah! Like hell I am!" She replied in a fit of anger, crossing both her arms.

"...Then...wha-"

"-Enough with your nonsense! Just shut up and listen! You! Are! My! Wielder! Okay?! Not the other way around! You got that you damm...damm..." she struggled to think of an insult. "Forget it!"

Arthur had a quizzical look on his face. "Isn't that the same-" before he could complete his question he was swiftly cut off.

"Listen closely human!" She stood and pointed her index finger directly at Arthur. "I chose you! Not the other way around! That means it is you who belongs to me, got that?!"

"Haha...alright already...I got it." Arthur averted his gaze from the girl and scratched the cheek on his cheek a little. He kept it to himself that he thought she was a pain in the ass.

"Ahem! Human! I have accepted you as my wielder and you have accepted me as your weapon. Correct?"

"Yeah...I guess?" He was starting to think he might regret this decision.

"Well then that's enough!" She stretched out her arm and showed him the back of his hand. "Get on one knee and kiss that back of my hand, this is how we finalise the contract between us? Understand?" She gave a smug condescending look down at Arthur.

"Fine...have it your way!" Arthur knelt on one knee and did exactly what she said. "Are you happy?!" Arthur gritted his teeth, feeling he had lost some of his pride.

"Happy as a weapon could be!" She had a wide grin on her face.

"I don't feel any different though..." Arthur looked up at the girl and saw she was holding a laugh in. "..." Arthur stared at her with a blank expression.

"Haahaah! I can't believe you actually did it you stupid human! How does it feel to be below me?! Haah! Haaah! Haaah!" She laughed and spoke in a posh manner and it was increasingly getting more annoying for Arthur.

"...Seriously?! How immature can you get?"

"Fool! All you need for our weapon bond is a verbal agreement! Honestly! You didn't even know something as simple as that?! We had already made the contract! Stupid human! Hahaaha!" She stuck out her tongue.

"...I see...the contracts have been done now, right? That means I can do what I want now, right? Right? Right?" Arthur smiled but it was obvious he was angry.

The girl was still crying her eyes out from laughter, hunching over while her arms covered her stomach. "Haaah! Haa-eh?" She looked at Arthur and then she wore an expression on her face. "Hey! Human...stay back, alright? I'm sorry...? Wahhh!"

Arthur clenched both his fists and planted them against the sides of her head. He started twisting them back and forth hurting and scolding her.

"WAHHHH! Stop it human! It hurts! Gah!"

"..."

A few dozen seconds passed by

"F-fowryy..." she cried, slurring her apology.

Arthur then stopped, "You're forgiven by this stupid human." He said with a blank face and monotone voice.

"Hmph!"

Arthur scratched the back of his head sitting back down on the ocean floor. "...so what's your name? Ah-my names Arthur!" He made sure to give his name first as he thought it would be rude to ask someone's name without introducing himself first.

The girl stood up and gave her typical smug look on her face. She placed her hand on her upward-facing chest. It was clear she thought highly of herself.

"Listen here you lowly human! You get the highest honour in serving the greatest of all weapons! That's right! I am! The! One! And! Only! Legendary sword! Ex-th!" She bit her tongue while speaking.

"Ex-th?" Arthur mimicked her tongue biting.

"Wahhhh!! I just wanted a cool intro! Why did I have to ruin it all?! Wahhhhh!" The girl began to cry again. Arthur started thinking that this girl cried too easily but still, he felt a little bad for her. Arthur walked over to the girl, who was now crouched down on the floor. Her head was tucked into her arms and knees. She then felt a warm sensation on top of her head.

"There there...don't cry. Your...p-pretty cool, I guess?" Arthur awkwardly tried to comfort her. The girl then began to wipe her tears away and looked up at Arthur, her eyes were glistening because of her crying.

"R-Really...?"

"T-thats right! The way you...you know. Ah! Your hair looks really awesome!"

"Really really?!!

"Mhm!" Arthur nodded vigorously in agreement, giving her a thumbs-up.

"Aha! My hair does look awesome human! I guess you're not so stupid after all!" She stood up carrying herself with the same brilliance she once did.

"My name is-ah!" She snapped her fingers. Just then a large bright, sun appeared behind her. The ocean beneath rippled, beautifully it reflected the sun.

"...?!"

"Now my name is-"

"-Wait just a minute!"

"...?"

"How are you doing all this? From changing the colour of the sky to your appearance and now making a whole sun appear?!" Arthur was very confused about where he really was.

The girl scratched the back of her head, looking somewhat annoyed. "Can't you just take it as it is and leave it alone?"

"Like hell I will!" Arthur's curiosity just couldn't handle all these questions unanswered.

"Fine, I get it already! Then let me give you a quick explanation. You died and I brought you to my world. Well, it's more accurate to say your soul and the reason I can manipulate this world freely is that this is my world. Every weapon has its own world. Alright? That's just how it is. It doesn't matter how low-level that weapon may be. We weapons are picky, especially someone of my calibre. You've probably realised this already but...you have vast amounts of potential and I've decided that you are indeed worthy of wielding me. That's all, alright?"

"...Fine." Arthur had more burning questions in his head but for now, he decided to hold himself back as he could feel the girl's growing annoyance.

"Ahem! Now it's time for my introduction!"

"For the third time..." Arthur chimed in.

She snapped her finger and the sun became bright but not bright enough that you couldn't see the girl. She pointed up in the air and had a big smile on her face.

"I am the legendary weapon! Hear my name in all its glory! Brilliant! Beautiful! Exquisite! Divine! Captivating! Heavenly! Sublime! Magnificent! Exceptional! Outstanding! Remarkable! Extraordinary! Phenomenal! Superb! Impeccable! Refined! Polished! Breath-taking! Luminous! Graceful! Enchanting!" She paused for a brief moment.

Then she pointed her finger towards Arthur with a self-satisfied look on her face.

"Excalibur!"
