Third person POV
As a result, Shu felt peace, for now in this first treatment. As Gen pulled out his dagger, Shu looked at him with a low, faint smile. "That was…good…"
Letting out a faint smile, which was slightly lower than Shu's, Gen replied, "Are you feeling much better now?"
Shu then nodded, before coughing more blood from his mouth.
Hayate went to Shu's personal space and leaned in breathing heavily. "Hey, kid…" he whispered with a sincere voice, "...do you like the vials on my vest?"
Shu looked at it like dangerous crystals and nodded. "Yeah, nice…I felt I had put myself into the shoes of a survivor, yet he had guilt instead of innocence."
Hayate then pulled back while adjusting his full soldier's gas mask.
The three of them intended to keep this a secret from everyone else, even from their close social circle, and Gen knew that this treatment should never be recommended for those who were mentally and/or emotionally self-destructive. Only Shu can have this exclusively. But still, little progress was made for Shu's emotional and mental recovery. Also, Gen dictated that any soldier in his organization would want to volunteer as Shu's executioners are needed to swear a vow of secrecy of it. But, if it was broken, the participant was only forbidden to take part in this treatment.
After that, Shu asked to be stabbed with a katana, and Gen responded accordingly, pulling out his precious katana and stabbing Shu with it. Shu felt more peace coming to him, like an answer to his desperate fantasies.
Then, Shu requested a modified zombie virus syringe to be pulled from Hayate's vest. Gen did so. "Also, can you tap it a few times before injecting it to me?" Shu asked. "I want to hear the sound of it."
Gen did so. The sound of the tapping provided a grounding peace for Shu.
"Yeah, standard for all syringes," Gen muttered.
He then injected it on Shu's arm, causing Shu's body to twitch and Shu to puke some more blood from his mouth.
Gen and Hayate then observed while bracing for the worst of having Shu's veins popped up and discolored by his zombie virus.
But luckily, it didn't, much to Gen's relief.
Although, Shu fell asleep, complete with peace of mind and soul.
Gen's first crazy treatment for him was a success.
"He actually despised suicide as a coward's exit…" Gen said to Hayate, "...man, in terms of psychology, he was a mystery. I cannot understand his psychology unless he explains it himself."
Hayate then removed his gas mask and the vials from his vest, putting them back in the crate. "Yeah, he was full of contradictions, but at least, he was asleep now."
