The weekend had finally arrived.
Evelyn's phone dinged with a notification from her reminder app. A bright smile lit up her face the moment she saw it — her extra Saturday class with Professor Lang. She was genuinely excited.
Jane had already burst into the house like a whirlwind, carrying a beautiful slip of a dress and a luxurious fur jacket. She was determined to turn Evelyn into something irresistible tonight.
Jane tossed everything over the couch and immediately scanned the room for the dog. Spotting him, she grinned and ran over, ready to shower him with affection the way she always did.
But she stopped short.
The large wolf-like dog was staring at her with an icy, predatory gaze that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. His golden eyes were cold, almost freezing her in place.
"Uh… what is wrong with him?" Jane asked, taking a cautious step back. "Why do I feel like he's about to turn me into an ice sculpture?"
