SCOTT'S POV
The path seemed endless. It was a long tunnel of shadows and plants meeting in the middle which seemed to have stopped growing. The sounds shifted to birds singing melodic songs, and ethereal voices were softly carried through the forest in a soft breeze. The air then changed too. It smelled of something more pleasant, almost too sweet like spring flowers blooming in a green misty meadow. Then, the sound of my footsteps disappeared. No more crunches of leaves, no more shoe prints left on the ground. When I looked up the sky, it was already night. It was then I realized, I didn't walked into a place... I was taken into one.
Then, Diana was there.
I felt a cold rush wash over my body when I saw Diana tied on a hundred year old tree, head bowed and still. Very still. "Diana!", I called and rushed towards her. "I'm here", when I tried to hold her, my hands passed through her body like I am some kind of a ghost. I tried again and still, I can't grab hold of my Luna. I stared at my translucent hands and grunted in my inability to touch Diana. "What the hell did you do to me?!", I clenched my fists so hard, looking around with blazing eyes searching for the damned lythari elf.
"You are not actually here 'here'", Wren's voice emerged, as he hide himself somewhere in the green lush of the forest. "We're in the realm of the Lythari Elves. Time turn faster here, you know? No one from outside of this realm could hear or see us. But, we can perfectly watch them closely from here. What we are seeing is your Luna being held captive by my brother, Ofir", spotting the lythari banking on a tree branch, swinging his legs. It appears as if it is no longer afraid, but surely, he's still keeping his distance.
"Let her go, NOW!", I grunted as I radiate my rage aura to Wren. In no time, he gasped like a fish out of water. He then grunted heavily as he lift his hand towards Diana. It seemed like he's tightening the vine around her neck as she wince while her eyes are still shut close.
"Kill.. me and.. you'll never.. see your .. Luna..ever again", he said with a smirk as I withdraw my aura letting him go. Fuck this piece of shit, now I'm pissed off.
"Good!", he cleared his throat inhaled deeply. "Now, Lycan.. To get your Luna back, you have to do something for us", Wren gave me a sinister smile which looked more than annoying.
"Do I look like someone who take orders from a pointy ears? And don't call me a lycan", I furrowed my brows and hardened my jaw as I keep myself guarded with my dark aura. "Let her go before I kill you all", I threatened.
"Ha! No. But you are the type of an Alpha who would do everything for his Luna", he said. "The moment you stepped inside this forest, our clan stood on edge that finally, our prayers has been answered! Do you have any idea how much your body and soul is valuable to everyone who dreams to be.. all powerful?".
Ah. These creatures as guardians of the forest living in a realm like this is something. They can see everything. "What the hell are you talking about?", I'm wasting time entertaining curiosities and nonsense like this as I keep my eyes on Diana.
"Allow me to enlighten you.", Wren learned his lesson, still keeping his distance away from me. Going closer, one tree branch at a time. "They say that beings like you are the mightiest shapeshifters ever created.", Wren started to explain. "You.. are only one of the three main bodies needed to create a supreme being.", Wren hopped down the tree branch as he land gracefully on the ground. "One, the indestructible original vampire who holds pure blood of darkness bringing the power of compulsion and immortality.. Two, the Lycan originated from an Alpha wolf with the power of shapeshifting, fast healing, and super senses. And three, a nagual who's the superior being of all shapeshifters. With all three powerful creatures combined, a supreme being will be born.", Wren explained.
It sounded ridiculous to me, but the lythari elf spoke of it like it was an easy task. I've heard of it once. And it sounded more than delusional that it seems. "Obtaining meta-power is not as easy as you think".
"So you know? Amazing isn't it! We can kill all werewolves easily so they can stop killing our kind", I saw delight and hope in Wren's evil eyes.
I laughed unamused at Wren's deeper motive beyond his trickery. This lythari is more insane than Christina. "Meta-power for an onion-skinned elf like you? Do you know what you are saying? Your body would tore apart with only half of a vampire's power being transferred to you.. and you expect three? Either you'll end up toasted or crumbly for sure", I said.
"Not me, Lycan!", Wren knitted his brows at me. "Who said it's me? It will be you. You are our lycan king, and it is your duty to protect us, because we are of the same specie", he added.
"I'm nothing like you, Wren. Don't involve me in those idiotic plans of yours. Better let Diana go before I strangle you with..", I stopped when I heard Roman's voice. I shifted my gaze at him who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, approaching Diana with his filthy hands.
"DIANA! Hey! Are you okay?", Roman tapped Diana's face gently as he break the vines around her with his bare hands. One vine and then another. He was too focused, and controlled. Something in my chest pricked so hard, making my jaw tighten as I watch without looking away. His pack also appeared along side of him securing the vicinity. Honestly, It's totally nerve-wracking to watch Roman there with Diana.
Another tiny elf, who look exactly like Wren, appeared above Roman. It was small, pale and watching. "You can't take her", he said.
"Fuck off dwarf", Gunner cursed. Roman's pack seemed to be unbothered, grinning and making fun of the lythari. "Ugly little thing!". It was his mistake. Soon, the lythari started with its deadly tricks as its black gleam, tilting its head slowly as if deciding which thread to pull first.
"You better watch this Lycan. Ofir enjoys petty fights with newcomers", Wren whispered as his brother flicks his hand, as the forest answered for Ofir. The vines coming from different places caught Gunner's and the pack's limbs, wrapping around the tightly. It was like we were watching a movie.
Roman placed Diana at the foot of the tree, as he dodge the vines that was about to pin him down. Tensed and pissed, I wanted to be in the flesh to take Diana out of here. But after so many attempts, I still couldn't hold her. Roman's pack were all coiled with vines on their arms and legs. When I thought this is going to be a perfect slaughter, Roman flared his aura making Ofir tremble as he perch on the branch. The vines loosened, enough to make the pack break loose. They were closer to victory when Wren decided to take part in the clash. He took control of the vines, wrapping them once again around the pack's arms, chest and legs. He attempted to spring a couple more vines to Roman, nevertheless, he was quick enough to get away from it.
Suddenly, Roman took out a match. Small. Ordinary. Deadly. "I was hoping I wouldn't need this", Roman lit it up and struck it. The trees caught the flames, and grew faster that it should have. Dry leaves ignited in a rush. Vines recoiled, shriveling as fire kissed them. The pack dropped hard to the ground, freed from chaos and coughing breaths. I saw Ofir panic in fear, as he vanish quickly. Gone.
I kept screaming for Diana who's still passed out by the tree. The fire is already near her feet, and she's still not in her senses. I tried to mindtalk the wolves but it seemed it didn't worked. The forest blazed in fire, while the thick smoke covered the land. "Help her God damn it!", I screamed, but Wren stood frozen watching the flames devour the trees.
Roman couldn't sense Diana as the smoke thickens. "Move!! Find her!!", the rest of his pack scattered, dragging each other, stumbling through the smoke and growing heat. The fire spread with hunger. Too fast. Too eager. It climbed the trees like claws, devoured the undergrowth, turned the forest into something roaring and alive. "Luna!!!", he shouted, desperately, and still didn't find Diana.
