Sylvie Lockwood was completely set off by that name.
She'd been holding her breath, nerves stretched taut, and suddenly, they snapped completely.
"Ryder Sharp?"
"Vivi."
"..." Sylvie Lockwood gritted her teeth. "I'm your sister."
"I've never called you that."
Her best friends had once joked that the reason Ryder Sharp never called her "sister" was because his intentions might have been a little wild.
At the time, she'd thought her friends were crazy.
It was true, though. Growing up, Ryder Sharp had never once called her sister. No amount of threats or bribes ever worked on him. "When exactly did you start... feeling this way about me?"
"I'm not sure."
Ryder Sharp truly couldn't recall. Maybe it was her companionship when his mother was hospitalized and passed away, or the times she stood up for him, or maybe it was just all the little moments they shared day to day.
He honestly didn't know when his feelings had changed.
"Then how do you know you really like me?"
