"That's the last photo of him and Mrs. Susie," Sylvie Lockwood said, lowering her voice.
When she had shown the photos to Jane Spencer before, aside from Ryder Sharp's embarrassing past, she had also intentionally taken out the ones of his birth mother. And now, Sydney Sawyer had just happened to see them all.
"Did she pass away from an illness?"
Sydney Sawyer didn't know much about Ryder Sharp's birth mother. After all, it was a delicate subject that no one ever brought up.
Sylvie Lockwood nodded. "His personality became so tough after Mrs. Susie passed away. He was actually quite adorable before that. To be honest, Ryder didn't have a good childhood, and I don't mean in terms of material things..."
"I remember one time at school, I think it was for a parent-teacher conference or some other event that required parents to attend, a kid made fun of him during recess, calling him a boy without a mom."
"Sometimes, the way kids talk... their malice is so innocent yet so cruel."
