Sydney Sawyer finished texting Sylvie Lockwood, then looked at Ryder Sharp. "Bro, do you have plans tonight?"
"I might have to go to the office this afternoon, but I'm free tonight."
"I'm going shopping with Miss Lockwood this afternoon. Why don't we invite Sebastian and all go out for dinner tonight? We've been eating over at their place so often lately, I feel a little bad about it." Sydney Sawyer had chosen her excuse well.
A man as perceptive as Ryder Sharp had sensed what she was up to the moment she'd used the photo album as an excuse. He gave her a deep look. "Whatever you say."
"Then I'll take the album next door first." Sydney Sawyer walked out, holding the album.
But just as she was about to step out the door, he called out to her, "Syd."
"Hm?"
Ryder Sharp looked at her. "I was too harsh before. I'm sorry."
He was, of course, referring to his earlier warning.
Sydney Sawyer gave him a small smile. "It's okay."
