"Are we sure about this?" I stared at the imposing, tall building, regretting my life choices.
"If we want answers…" Ivan looked unnerved, but for a different reason.
Two lion statues flanked the entrance.
That wasn't anything strange; lots of buildings had statues in front of them, but none of their statues were alive.
A lion on the right, his mate, a lioness, to his left. They stood motionless until someone approached.
"I want answers…" The lions threw me off. Both stayed on their sides, but I got the feeling they wouldn't hesitate to jump down if necessary.
"Then we'll have to go in…"
"You don't think they're real, real?" Taylor was more cautious than usual, but I can't blame her. This was new for me, too.
"I just paid $20,000 for two dresses. That money came from somewhere. I'd like to know from where."
"Yeah, that would be nice," my beta agreed.
