"It's a dress shop," Taylor pouted at the building, as if it offended her.
"We told you it was." Nefra glanced at the business card, still unsure if we should be here.
"I know, but I was expecting something else."
I'd never tell her, but so was I.
We debated for hours the night before, arguing whether we should come.
In the end, we showed up, the potential answers more pressing than the risk. It could be a trap, but Nefra trusted Liam's treasure hunt. I didn't, but I trust her.
Luke returned the clues and sent us with a squad, who waited at the end of the street. Aria said we could only bring Taylor, but he wouldn't let us come alone.
'He would've come himself if they'd let him.' Sadly, my friend was stuck mediating today. I don't envy him.
My only complaint was bringing Taylor, but Nefra insisted she be here.
'They invited her, and she handles a crisis better than any of us.'
My baby sister?
The debate ended when Nefra reminded me Tay was her Beta, and I had no say.
