Chapter 16 - Shadows of the Bloodline

The moon hung low in the sky—Casting long shadows across empty streets.

Feroz and Mrs. Aliya moved through them.

Deeper.Deeper into the city's narrow alleys.

Feroz's chest felt heavy.

Every new truth—Pressing harder than the last.

His father—Qadir Khan—

Had hidden him.Saved him.Given up everything.

And his uncle—

Blood family.

Had tried to kill him.

That thought—

Kept repeating in his mind.

But something else was there too.

A strange feeling.

Like he had seen all this before.

Deja vu.

Pieces were coming together—

But the picture was still not clear.

Not complete.

"Feroz…" Mrs. Aliya said quietly.

"We can't stay here long."

Her voice was tense.

"They will find our trail."

"We need to disappear."

Feroz nodded.

But he wasn't fully there.

His mind was far away.

Too many thoughts.

His father.

His uncle.

This power.

This life he never asked for.

"I…," he said suddenly.

Stopping.

Mrs. Aliya turned.

"Did my father know this would happen?"

His voice was low.

Heavy.

"That I would run… like this?"

She looked at him.

Moonlight hit her tired face.

Soft.

Sad.

"Your father hoped you would never face this."

A pause.

"He wanted you to live a normal life."

"But the moment your uncle found out you were alive…"

She shook her head slightly.

"It was only a matter of time."

Feroz felt it again.

That word.

Uncle.

It made something inside him tighten.

How could family become this?

How could blood turn into danger?

"And my powers…" Feroz asked slowly.

"Have they already started?"

"Or are they still… inside me?"

Mrs. Aliya stepped closer.

Her voice softened.

"They are there."

"I've seen signs."

A pause.

"Not just strength in that alley."

"There is more."

"Much more."

Feroz swallowed.

"And when will it happen fully?"

Her eyes lowered for a moment.

"When it wakes up…"

"It will not be small."

That line stayed in the air.

Heavy.

Real.

She placed a hand on his shoulder.

"We need someone who can guide you."

"Before it's too late."

"Before they find you again."

Feroz frowned.

"Who are 'they'?"

"How do they know everything about me?"

His voice rose slightly.

Frustration building.

Mrs. Aliya stayed silent for a moment.

Then spoke.

"There is an organization."

"Very old."

"They have been searching for people like your father."

"People with gifts."

"They don't want to destroy you…"

"They want to control you."

Feroz's fists tightened.

"So my uncle is with them?"

She didn't answer directly.

But her silence was enough.

Feroz exhaled sharply.

"And me?"

"What am I to them?"

Mrs. Aliya looked at him.

"You are the most important piece."

A pause.

"Your father protected you from them."

"He gave you a chance to live free."

"But now…"

She lowered her voice.

"Your past has caught you."

Silence followed.

Only footsteps echoed.

Soft.

Careful.

They walked under a weak streetlight.

Then Mrs. Aliya stopped.

She took something out.

A folded paper.

Old.

Worn.

She gave it to him.

Feroz took it slowly.

"What is this?"

"A map," she said.

"It will lead us to someone."

Feroz looked down.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Who?"

"Yusuf."

A pause.

"He knew your father."

"He can help you control your powers."

"But he is not easy to find."

"And not easy to trust."

Feroz unfolded the map.

Lines.

Paths.

Old markings.

It looked simple—

But felt… strange.

Like it was alive.

He stared at it.

And something happened.

A feeling.

Deep inside him.

Like the map was calling him.

Like he already knew it.

He shivered slightly.

Before he could speak—

A sound came behind them.

Soft.

A rustle.

Feroz turned fast.

Dark alley.

Empty.

But not empty.

Something felt wrong.

"We're being followed," he whispered.

Mrs. Aliya didn't question him.

She just nodded.

"We move."

But before they could—

The air changed.

Cold.

Strange.

Shadows started moving.

Not normal shadows.

They twisted.

Shifted.

Like smoke coming alive.

Feroz's heart jumped.

Shapes formed inside them.

Human-like.

But not human.

Five figures.

Surrounding them.

Slowly.

Silently.

Mrs. Aliya's voice dropped.

"They sent shadow emissaries."

Feroz's eyes widened.

"Shadow what?"

"Emissaries," she said quickly.

"Made of darkness."

"Not alive…"

"But dangerous."

One shadow moved forward.

Stretching like black smoke.

Mrs. Aliya quickly pulled a small bottle from her coat.

She threw it on the ground.

It broke instantly.

Light burst out.

A glowing wave.

The shadows moved back.

For a moment.

"Now! Move!" she shouted.

But Feroz didn't move.

He couldn't.

Something inside him pulled him back.

Stronger.

Strange.

His breathing changed.

Slow.

Heavy.

His vision blurred slightly.

"Feroz!" her voice felt far away.

Like water.

Distant.

The shadows reacted.

Faster now.

Circling.

Waiting.

Something inside Feroz shifted.

Not fear.

Something else.

Energy.

Building.

Uncontrolled.

His body trembled.

And then—

Light exploded from him.

A shockwave hit everything.

The shadows flew back.

Breaking apart.

Gone.

Silence fell.

Mrs. Aliya stared at him.

Shocked.

"Feroz…" she whispered.

"What did you do?"

He stood still.

Breathing hard.

Confused.

He didn't know.

But he felt it.

Something inside him—

Had woken up.

And it couldn't be stopped anymore.

The shadows were gone for now.

But danger wasn't.

"Feroz, we go now," Mrs. Aliya said quickly.

They moved fast into the night.

But Feroz couldn't forget what happened.

Something inside him had answered.

And a thought came quietly in his mind—

If his uncle was not the only danger…

Then what else was coming?

Deep inside—

Something whispered back.

They were just the beginning.
