Chapter 15 - Whispers of Shadows

The cool night breeze touched them—As they stepped out of the temple.

But Feroz couldn't feel it.

Not really.

His mind was too heavy.

Too full.

Everything they saw inside—

Still echoed in him.

He kept looking at Mrs. Aliya.

Waiting.

For answers.

For something.

The silence between them—

Was heavy.

Like it had weight.

Like it was hiding something.

Finally—

Feroz spoke.

Soft.

But firm.

"Mrs. Aliya…"

A pause.

"You know more than you're telling me… don't you?"

She stopped walking.

The moonlight hit her face.

Tired eyes.

Heavy truth.

She exhaled slowly.

Then folded her hands.

"Feroz…" she said.

Her voice careful.

"Some things are better kept in the dark… for now."

A pause.

"But not anymore."

Her gaze lowered slightly.

"Not after what you saw."

She looked at him again.

Direct.

Serious.

"What I'm going to tell you… may not make sense yet."

A pause.

"And it's only part of the truth."

Feroz's heart tightened.

He nodded.

Slow.

Waiting.

She continued.

"Your family didn't leave you because they didn't care."

A pause.

"Your father—Qadir Khan—was not an ordinary man."

Feroz froze slightly.

His name—

His father's name—

Finally real.

"He had powers," she said.

"Abilities most people can't understand."

"Blessing… and curse both."

Feroz whispered.

"My father?"

His voice barely came out.

She nodded.

"Yes."

"He was strong… but always being chased."

A pause.

"Powerful people wanted him."

"Dangerous people."

"They wanted what he had."

Feroz listened.

Silent.

Unmoving.

"Even his own blood turned against him," she said.

Feroz looked up quickly.

"My uncle?"

His voice sharp now.

She didn't answer at first.

Her face darkened.

Then she nodded.

"Yes."

"He became greedy."

"He wanted power."

"The same power your father had."

A pause.

"He thought if he removed both of you… he could take it all."

Feroz's fists slowly tightened.

Anger building.

"Did he try to kill him?"

Mrs. Aliya lowered her gaze.

"Yes."

Silence hit hard.

She continued.

"Your father had no choice."

"He ran."

"Not for himself…"

"For you."

Feroz's voice dropped.

"So… he left me at the orphanage?"

She nodded.

"To protect you."

A pause.

"He hid you. Changed your identity."

"To keep you safe from your uncle."

Feroz's chest felt tight.

"So where is he now?"

His voice cracked slightly.

Mrs. Aliya stayed quiet.

Then spoke softly.

"No one knows."

"Some say he was captured."

"Some say worse."

She looked at him.

"But he never stopped loving you."

"Everything he did… was for you."

Feroz looked down.

His mind heavy.

Too many emotions at once.

Anger.

Pain.

Confusion.

She continued.

"His story didn't end."

"It passed to you."

Feroz looked up.

"What do you mean?"

She stepped closer.

"His gift…"

"It is in you now."

Feroz shook his head slightly.

"No… I don't have anything like that."

She looked at him—calm but serious.

"You do."

"You just don't know it yet."

"And when it wakes up…"

A pause.

"Those chasing you will never stop."

Silence fell again.

Heavy.

Real.

She spoke quickly now.

"We have to move."

"What happened at the temple… it wasn't safe."

"They will be coming."

Feroz's mind went back.

The men in black suits.

The attack.

Always the same question—

How did they know?

They started walking again.

Into the night.

Slow.

Careful.

Feroz looked up at the sky.

Stars faint above them.

Far away.

Like answers he couldn't reach yet.

His thoughts turned dark.

What if his uncle was still alive?

The idea—

Hit him hard.

This wasn't just danger.

This was personal now.

As they moved forward—

Feroz felt it clearly.

There was no going back.

Not anymore.

His path was set.

Unknown.

Dangerous.

But real.

And somewhere in all this—

His father's truth was waiting.

And so was his own.

And the fight—

Had only just begun.
