Conrad continued walking for a while before telling Lenfani to move about ten meters ahead of him. Lenfani did not give the request much thought and simply did as he was told.
In situations like this, especially when it came to Conrad's words, saying anything extra did not seem particularly wise at the moment.
Once Lenfani had moved far enough ahead, Conrad focused slightly on one of the trees and placed one of his three Obelisks inside it.
The moment the Obelisk was established, Conrad slightly furrowed his brows.
He could not understand the exact reason, but he could not shake the strange feeling that he had stepped into something unusual.
Using the Obelisk to examine the surroundings, he could not see any obvious difference.
There were various strange and colorful plants everywhere, but he could not determine exactly what those plants were or what they were capable of.
"The fact that everything looks this simple and straightforward means it probably isn't that simple and straightforward."
At that moment, he heard Lenfani.
"Conrad, you need to come over here," Lenfani said, her voice carrying a slight hint of concern.
Conrad walked over to Lenfani and began looking at the same place she was observing.
"A type of plant?" Conrad thought.
There was a plant directly on the ground that resembled a vine-like structure extending upward, with three branches growing from it.
At the end of each branch was a flower. One was green, one was red, and one was blue.
Lenfani took a slight breath before speaking.
"I don't know much about plants."
"But I can say with certainty that whatever this plant is, it isn't particularly harmless anymore."
"If you focus and use Gyo, I believe you should be able to see something at the ends of the plants."
Conrad began examining the colorful parts of the plant with Gyo, and shortly afterward, he let out a quiet laugh.
"Hmm..."
"I can see a type of aura, but this aura isn't controlled in the way human aura is."
"It must be a plant connected to some kind of aura," he said.
Lenfani nodded.
Conrad took a deep breath, brought his hand to his chin, and began thinking.
"If there is aura, then Nen abilities and similar actions or effects could also exist."
"The colors and their differences could be some kind of natural conditions that allow this plant's Nen-related existence to perform those actions."
"It could operate according to a logic similar to Deep Point."
Conrad took a photograph of the plant with his phone.
"There is no reason to spend more time here. Let's keep moving," he said.
Lenfani nodded and continued walking.
Conrad followed behind Lenfani, but after a moment, he stopped and looked back at the plant.
"Interesting."
"It releases aura pollen through bursts of color and visual illusions. As the target continues looking at the colors in sequence, they are effectively fulfilling a kind of multiplying condition."
"I'm certain that if someone continued looking for a certain amount of time, the pollen would penetrate deeper into their body and eventually produce some kind of manipulative effect."
Conrad did not share these thoughts with Lenfani.
There was no reason for him to do so.
From a fundamental perspective, Lenfani was not his friend. She was nothing more than a Hunter and Nen user whom he might have to kill when the time came.
After they continued walking for another ten minutes or so, Conrad suddenly stopped.
Because of Conrad's sudden halt, Lenfani stopped as well.
"What is wrong?" Lenfani asked, looking around cautiously.
"I assume we are going to be attacked by some kind of group of animals within the next few minutes."
"My senses are telling me that although the group isn't particularly large, it has some kind of connection to aura, similar to the three-colored plant we encountered."
"That connection increases the level of the threat," Conrad said.
Lenfani swallowed and nodded. She extended one hand forward, and after focusing, a long sword made entirely of aura slowly began to appear.
"Hmm..."
"You said you weren't good at close combat," Conrad said.
Lenfani smiled.
"I'm not."
"But creating and using a simple sword made of aura isn't particularly difficult," she replied.
Conrad remained silent and nodded.
At that moment, strange sounds began approaching them.
They resembled a faint vibration, almost like radio static.
"This place isn't particularly good for us."
"The creatures approaching us resemble dogs. They have six eyes, and their aura is concentrated underneath their abdomens."
"They are more dangerous than us in this narrow area," Conrad said.
Lenfani did not particularly believe the part about them being more dangerous than the two of them. She smiled slightly and began running after Conrad.
Within a few minutes, they reached a relatively open area where there were fewer trees.
Immediately afterward, exactly six creatures that could be described as six-eyed dogs arrived at the location where Conrad and Lenfani were standing.
They began circling around them.
"Eyes on every side, six muscular and powerful legs, and I don't see a mouth."
"What a mystical creature," Lenfani commented.
Conrad nodded and began focusing.
He analyzed their behavior, trying to understand how the creatures attacked.
From simply observing them, Conrad had already realized that he was superior to them in aura level, aura control, and almost every other aspect related to Nen.
Because of that, he knew that these creatures did not pose much of a threat to him.
However, fighting was not what interested Conrad.
What he wanted to understand was how a creature like this combined the natural aura it possessed with natural conditions and limitations, and how those characteristics affected the way it hunted, attacked, defended itself, and generally moved.
Understanding things like this gave him information about himself and it could be used to create more versatile and powerful nen abilities as well as nen applications in the future.
