Charlotte's P.O.V
I open my heavy eyes, struggling against the drugs and my exhaustion. I have tried mind linking with someone and contacting my friends, but I got no reply.
"Are you happy now?" A familiar voice with a false tone was heard.
With struggle, I look at a really injured Danny, my mate. His face was filled with cuts, scratches, and bruises. It's been only a few hours since I made the choice that Danny is not happy with, and since then, we have been tortured.
We were put inside one of those cage-like structures among the others who were caught. One of our hands was tied, locked up in a silver chain, my skin showing visible burn scars where the silver touched my skin.
"Could you have guaranteed our safety if we walked out of this cave, leaving the others?" I ask a bit angrily if he is angry with me for thinking of saving my friends first?
"Could you guarantee our safety now, then?" He growled back, making him spit out blood.
"We are alive, isn't that enough?" I ask.
