On the ground below the rock formation, there were several crows waiting for me. While some were perched atop branches and others were circling in the sky. The closest one sat just below the crevice on a rock as if keeping guard so I didn't escape.
Reacting instantly, I sprayed acid into the crow's eyes. The bird let out a loud kaw as it flapped its wings frantically, but before it had the chance to fly off, I injected my venom into the creature. The bird's entire body went stiff almost immediately as the venom took hold.
Meanwhile, the other crows erupted in a frenzy, but before they could arrive, I was already gone, slipping through the darkness with ease.
[EXP gained]
-New Skill Acquired-
[Lv. 1 Camouflage: Passive skill that reduces visibility by 60% when in darkness]
With the first kill, I successfully created chaos instead of allowing the crows to attack all at once. With low visibility and panic rising from seeing one of their own dead, it was much easier to attack from the shadows.
Using the chaos, the darkness, and Serpentine Evasion, I ambushed the crows without making a sound. With surgical precision, I injected my venom into their bodies before disappearing without a trace.
[EXP gained!]
Still, some of the crows were more perceptive than others and located me and attacked before I had the chance to attack first. Immediately, I activated Acid Shot and targeted their eyes, but with multiple of them attacking at once, it was nearly impossible to keep them all away with this method.
Hence, when they were close enough, I molded my exoskeleton into pointed spikes. Obsidian was the sharpest object back on Earth, with its cutting edge measuring 200 times sharper than a surgical scalpel.
And since it was naturally evolving with my body, this meant it was sharper and much stronger than natural obsidian!
Creating sharp blades on my exoskeleton while activating Serpentine Evasion, my speed increased tremendously as I was able to cleanly slice through the birds' feet.

Using my third consciousness, I spent the skill points I gained to level up the skills that I needed, all while fighting the attacking crows. At the same time, my second consciousness controlled my motor skills, and I danced through the crows' attacks, leaving them confused and disoriented.
My first consciousness was interpreting all the information coming in from my senses like my feet, antennae, and eyes. By processing it all, I could tell where every single crow was, so there was no blind spot, making it hard for me to get sneaked up on.
The crows were relentless as they dove from the sky, aiming to rip my carapace apart with their large claws, but the hardness of my exoskeleton made it impossible for them to break through.
Seizing the moment, I sprayed acid into their eyes every time one of them would swoop down from the sky, blinding them instantly and causing them to violently crash into the ground.
[Acid Shot has leveled up to Level 4!]
The acidity of my acid had increased to the point where it began melting through the rocks in the surrounding area, while my venom was strong enough to stop a crow's heart in less than 5 seconds.
As the fight progressed, bodies began to pile up around me and apart from a few small cracks and scratches in my carapace, I was mostly unharmed. With Acid Shot and an obsidian exoskeleton, I managed to drive away any crow that tried to lift me into the air.

My stats rose drastically. My body felt lighter, allowing me to move at speeds that shouldn't be possible for a centipede, allowing me to move through the crow's attacks seamlessly.
And when it came to physical strength, I wasn't inferior to any of the crows in the slightest. In fact my physical strength felt greater as I carried myself like an indestructible tank.
The more of their companions that were killed, the more crows descended from the sky to attack me all at once. Using the same strategy of blinding them with acid and injecting them with venom, I managed to kill the entire flock of crows.
The surrounding area was covered in blood and black feathers as their bodies piled around me in a circle.
Inspecting myself, I realized that my exoskeleton had a few cracks, but most of my injuries were from my legs. A few of them were missing, but could easily be fixed when I molt so I pushed that thought aside and instead focused on the bodies of the crows lying around.
The first time I killed and devoured a crow, I managed to gain 19 biomass in total. But with over 20 dead crows lying in front of me, I was practically staring at a gold mine!
I could hardly believe it.
Staring at the corpses, I felt an unbelievable sense of greed rising from the pit of my stomach.
I was certain that the commotion made from the fight had drawn the attention of other powerful predators, some of which could be monsters or magical beasts. If that happened, then I would have no choice but to escape empty-handed.
So without sparing even a second to breathe, I began storing all the dead crows in my dimensional storage space. A dimensional storage space was given to every player that entered Vesperia. This was mostly so they could store important magical items and carry them back with them when they logged out of Vesperia.
One by one, I went to every crow and stored them safely. Afterwards, I hastily climbed the rock formation and slipped through the tiny crevice. I then gathered small stones and used them to cover the hole.
It would take a while to devour all the crows, and I didn't want to be disturbed.
Without wasting another second, I hastily retrieved the first crow from my storage space and sank my mandibles into its soft flesh.
