Chapter 71
The Chieftain's face darkened with a final, decisive fury. As he turned his gaze on Monty, the crowd shifted, their whispers turning into open accusations.
Fear finally broke through Monty's composure. She pointed a trembling finger at Euphoria, her voice shrill with desperation. "You're all in on it! You conspired to ruin me!"
Euphoria met her frantic gaze with a cool smile. "Is that so? I conspired with her to set her up with my own partner? Don't forget—at this very moment, you are supposed to be Monty."
The logic struck Monty dumb, leaving her with nothing but a gaze full of silent, venomous resentment.
"Chieftain, the truth is undeniable," Euphoria said, turning to the leader. "Mina was telling the truth all along. Monty stole her identity out of jealousy and has spent years plotting to drive her own sister out of the tribe entirely."
