Loretta woke with a dull ache pounding behind her eyes. She groaned softly and immediately covered her face with the blanket.
Her head hurt. For several seconds, she remained still, trying to remember what had happened the previous night.
She remembered the dinner and seeing Isabella. After that, everything became blurry. She vaguely remembered getting into Kevin's car.
Loretta slowly sat up, pressing her fingers against her temple.
"How did I even get here?"
She looked around her room. She was still fully dressed, although her shoes were gone and her clothes were slightly wrinkled.
Her brows furrowed, but she couldn't remember entering the house or her room.
Loretta shook her head.
"At least I didn't go to the wrong room this time," she muttered to herself.
Before she could think about it any further, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Lydia entered carrying a tray.
On it was a bowl of warm soup, a glass of water, and a few slices of fruit.
