Chapter 7 - Followers and Gifts (1)

Huh? This haremseeker loved this roleplay too much.

genubaby: huhuhu me too! I want to be your follower, my lord!!!

aint_a_stan: haha too much bs

haremseeker: wait, I commented that cringe line?

thegrovemissy: Who else? Are you hacked?

Jaeyi ignored that haremseeker and continued with his stream.

What Jaeyi did not know was that when he focused on Haremseeker's comment, the avatar seemed to suddenly focus on the individual behind the account.

Haremseeker's eyes became dark and glazed; a dark smoke then rose from his computer and merged with his body. On his forehead, an incomprehensible symbol appeared before it disappeared, hiding itself.

When haremseeker blinked again, he could not help but frown. He felt like something had happened, but he was unable to figure out what it was.

His hand touched his forehead, feeling the heat. Was he about to have a fever? Strange. When he looked at his screen again, he saw his comment.

The username was his, but did he comment that?

No matter what reservations haremseeker was feeling, Jaeyi had no way of knowing, and so he continued his stream. In fact, even the cat had barely sensed it, remaining lazy at the table.

"Why am I the demon lord? "Heh, how presumptuous, trollurlife." Jaeyi was getting used to it. He only needed to become stable in his voice. "The abyss rests at my feet, and demons revere my existence. Do you truly need an explanation beyond that?"

Scratch that. Jaeyi still felt he was too cringe, but let it be. Especially as that one account commented again.

genubaby: Ackk!!! so handsome! Of course, how dare you all question my lord! He's the great demon lord of the abyss, simple as that!

Jaeyi's brow arched up, and he crossed his arms on his chest. He nodded in approval at the comment, focusing on it as though the individual behind it would be able to tell.

Of course, this avatar was only looking at everyone on the screen. Yet, the demon lord avatar also heightened his expression, looking more daunting.

As he was about to say something again, when a few comments popped up again, especially genubaby being hysterical in the comment section, his gaze somehow landed on the viewer count.

Jaeyi almost blanked out, and he nearly cursed in the stream. Somehow, the viewer count had reached 50. He was not even live for five minutes.

What was going on? Or was this teh benefits of being a huge platform? This might not be much for huge Vtubers, but for a newbie like him... it was something to celebrate.

Jaeyi cleared his throat, restraining himself from exclaiming out of his character. At least, not often do that.

"Mm, more and more lost souls find their way here. Tell me, what is it that's drawn you into my lair?"

What he said could be translated roughly to what happened, and they stumbled in his stream. Sure enough, everyone understood it. Jaeyi was certainly new in the Vtuber world and did not know the ins and outs, and had no intention to explore more either.

He was here not to integrate but just to use the platform to replenish the so-called abyssal power. If anything, they were the ones being absorbed in his world.

onecarly: your stream popped up suddenly

damian4anya: ^^ Yeah, it happened to me too. Maybe a new recommendation feature?

genubaby: You all should be grateful, as fate allows you to witness my lord's power.

lckmyas: lmaooo genubaby on a roll since the first stream

titybgass: same for me the fck? are u hacking streamix? jk

Jaeyi's brow moved; again, he ignored genubaby's comment and focused on what everyone was saying. There were a few more comments saying the same thing.

The stream just popped out of nowhere on their homepage? Jaeyi could not help but glance at Virel loafing at the table. His first thought was that the black cat did something.

Virel immediately understood his gaze.

"It's not my doing. But rather, it's you, heir." When Jaeyi's brows furrowed, unable to comprehend since he was not doing anything special. The cat continued. "You are the Demon Lord, your existence alone isn't something this small domain can contain. What's a virtual world even? Subtly influencing this platform is but a small feat for you."

Of course, it was like a passive ability. So, this was the reason his stream was gaining traction despite being new and unverified.

When Jaeyi returned his attention to the stream and swept his eyes in the comment section, he found that they could not really hear Virel's voice.

He picked a few questions and answered them in a Demon Lord way. Sometimes, becoming stiff and awkward, but that was also something the viewers found amusing.

Fifteen minutes into the stream, Jaeyi became dumbfounded yet again with the number of viewers. Suddenly, he reached three digits, and 245 viewers were watching him.

Jaeyi also saw some nasty comments; he ignored those. With the stream becoming slightly popular, it was somehow expected. Since Jaeyi could hide his identity behind the avatar, he did not even care about them.

This was also what he wanted.

His eyes filtered the nasty and nonsensical comments and looked for something to answer regarding his Demon Lord identity. This stream he dedicated to that, after all.

binabina: Just curious, if you are the demon lord, do you have abyss subordinates?

It was uncommon among comments, half of which were just bullshitting and the other half were simping on the avatar, to see a genuine question like this.

Meaning, someone who truly roleplays with the Vtuber.

"As I've mentioned, I am bound to this small domain for now. My subordinates... should already be searching for me." Jaeyi's gaze landed on Virel.

In fact, he was so fixated with the idea that there were enemies behind him to ask the black cat about this. The Demon Lord should have subordinate demons, right?

He continued as he looked at the screen again.

"For now, until I regain my strength, I will make use of the lost souls that gather here."

Jaeyi's lips hooked up, grinning deviously. Of course, it looked stiff as it was. However, the avatar enhanced it; the handsome face and its demonic charm became emphasized by that smirk, the crimson eyes glimmering with malice.

The viewers in their houses or wherever they were could not help but be taken aback. One could even hear squeals and praise for the demon lord. Invisible black smoke rose from their devices and integrated with them as they did so.

And it was not just women.

The comment section became so flooded that Jaeyi could not even keep up.
