Chapter 11 - The President's Return: The White Moonlight 11

After returning home that day, Zhu Yu waited for a month but never witnessed any dramatic display of power or influence.

The woman acted as if she had never been there, without causing a ripple.

The film crew started shooting normally, filming scenes as scheduled every day.

On the contrary, her relationship with Fu Wang progressed rapidly.

She officially moved from the hotel where she stayed when she first returned to China to Fu Wang's private estate.

Every day, besides filming, he and Fu Wang would eat and drink everywhere, visiting all the fun attractions around the capital.

Fu Wang's hidden wickedness gradually came to light.

For example, right now.

Helpless, Zhu Yu hooked her finger around Fu Wang's and explained softly, "That person is really just a colleague I worked with. I haven't even spoken to him except when we were filming together. Why are you angry with him?"

Fu Wang persisted, saying, "The way he looked at you wasn't exactly innocent."

Zhu Yu was both amused and annoyed, and gently slapped his hand: "You, you're jealous of this too. And all those female employees in your company who look at you with questionable eyes, should I be jealous of them too?"

"If you don't like them, I'll fire them all."

Zhu Yu quickly covered his mouth, "Shut up, okay? If you dare to fire someone because of me, I'll get angry. Remember to keep your personal and professional life separate, my big boss."

Fu Wang shifted his gaze and pulled her tightly into his arms: "I feel like you don't like me that much."

Zhu Yu felt a pang of guilt: "Why did you say that?"

Do you remember how we met?

"Um...it seems like my parents introduced us?" Zhu Yu racked her brains, but her memories of things before she was ten years old were shrouded in a thin fog, and she couldn't see them clearly no matter what.

Fu Wang gave her a deep look, his eyes unfathomable: "You don't remember."

His tone was full of certainty, but also tinged with a hint of indescribable disappointment.

Zhu Yu looked blank, trying hard to recall but still had no recollection.

Her identity was arranged by the system. According to the system, before she entered this body, it was controlled by a program similar to AI, which had no thoughts of its own and could only follow the set program step by step.

Therefore, she entered this body without any hindrance, and even received all her past memories.

But for some reason, I just can't recall any memories from before I was ten years old.

Zhu Yu felt a pang of guilt and hugged him, whispering, "I'm sorry, I really can't remember, but I truly love you now, believe me, okay?"

"It's alright." Fu Wang lowered his eyes, his emotions unreadable. "From now on, I'll make sure you only remember things related to me."

"Um."

Despite being so close together, Zhu Yu inexplicably felt that their hearts were so far apart.

She admitted that when she first entered this world, she had a detached attitude towards it and treated Fu Wang as if he were a relatively intelligent virtual boyfriend.

She wasn't curious about what Fu Wang was thinking; she simply took his love for granted and enjoyed it as a pre-programmed routine.

But after spending so much time together, she gradually integrated into this world and truly considered herself a part of it.

She worries that Fu Wang is too busy with work to eat, feels sorry for the soft heart beneath his cold exterior, and is curious about his childhood experiences.

They might also question which one he truly loves.

She is either the female lead in the original story or the childhood sweetheart "white moonlight" in the setting.

She knew she shouldn't be thinking like this, but she couldn't control her thoughts.

Zhu Yu wondered: Does he really love me?

If he knew she wasn't Zhu Yu, his childhood sweetheart, would his feelings still remain the same?

The identity of Zhu Yu is uncertain.

From the very first day she met Fu Wang, she was disguised as "Zhu Yu".

Although everything was arranged by the system, she still inexplicably felt as if she had stolen someone else's appearance to gain Fu Wang's love.

This love came too suddenly and too intensely, like a suspended skyscraper that couldn't withstand any scrutiny.

No matter who it is.

Zhu Yu hugged Fu Wang's waist and shoulders tightly, leaning her whole body against him.

No one can take Fu Wang away from her.

A person who can accept an obsessive kind of love is essentially an obsessive person.

——

"Give voice to all the voiceless!"

A thin girl covered in blood stood in the solemn courtroom and shouted in an extremely awkward and incomprehensible voice—a voice that a person with a voice impairment could barely produce after special training.

She was willing to gamble everything and take this chance.

The main lights on the site were suddenly turned off, and the temporary set returned to darkness.

Congratulations to Teacher Zhu Yu on wrapping up filming!

A thunderous applause erupted around them. The director produced a bouquet of flowers from who-knows-where and stuffed it into Zhu Yu's arms. The other staff members surrounded Zhu Yu, congratulating her incessantly.

Zhu Yu's face still bore the tear stains from the performance, and she was so immersed in the role that she couldn't snap out of it for a moment.

Before she could change out of her costume, the assistant director pulled her to the banquet.

"I really didn't expect that the entertainment industry would produce such a newcomer this year, and that she was even discovered by me. If she becomes a Best Actress in the future, don't forget me!"

The assistant director said, half-jokingly and half-seriously.

Zhu Yu: "Please don't flatter me too much. Even if I become successful in the future, when people mention me, they will still add: 'Oh, that Zhu Yu, Director Li dug her out from among ordinary people.'"

The assistant director was delighted by her words, and his already round face looked even more kind when he smiled.

Script supervisor Xiao Li was using a clapperboard as a gavel, banging on the table and shouting, "Teacher Zhu has to drink three cups! She had the fewest NGs in the whole group!"

Amidst the laughter of the crowd, the director suddenly turned off the music and held up a gold-embossed document: "An invitation just sent by Warner Bros."

The entire theater fell silent for a moment, followed by thunderous shouts.

The staff, who usually appear respectable, are now like primitive people who have regressed to their ancestral state. Regardless of age or gender, they have lost their language system and can only utter instinctive shouts.

Being invited by Warner Bros. means the film is already halfway to success.

The mere thought of potentially leaving their mark on the Chinese film industry was enough to keep everyone in the room calm.

Even the director, who is known for his short temper and demanding nature, couldn't help but smile.

Zhu Yu clapped and laughed along, but her gaze was suddenly drawn to the side.

Suddenly, the large screen next to them lit up—it turned out that the crew had already edited Zhu Yu's impromptu performance into behind-the-scenes footage, which was now being projected onto the large screen with Zhu Yu's name and headshot printed on it.

Zhu Yu's eyes immediately reddened.

She never expected that she would be given such a surprise here.

"Teacher Zhu, don't cry, your makeup will be ruined and you won't look good."

"You have to drink even if you cry, Teacher Zhu, don't even think about escaping."

The crowd laughed and joked, trying to force her to drink.

The door was suddenly pushed open, and Fu Wang walked in, bringing with him the chill of the night dew.
