Chapter 10 - The President's Return: The White Moonlight 10

The woman glanced around the room, her gaze finally settling on Zhu Yu, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes. "This is the Qiao Yuan you chose?"

The woman's voice was arrogant: "I turned down several big productions for this role, and she thinks she can compare to me?"

The assistant director frowned, about to speak, when an assistant behind the woman took out a document. "This is our young lady's acting resume and network of contacts. Please consider it carefully."

Zhu Yu: I really want to... really want to laugh.

It's no wonder this is a fictional world; why would anyone be so stupid as to have the word "arrogant" tattooed on their forehead?

Is it because she got the female lead's script that she got all the face-slapping scenes that belong to the female lead?

Thinking this way, Zhu Yu inexplicably felt a little eager to try it out.

The assistant director glanced at the documents, then at Zhu Yu, and said firmly, "We only look at ability when casting actors. Everyone witnessed Ms. Zhu Yu's performance just now. The role of Qiao Yuan is perfect for her."

The woman's expression changed, and she was about to lash out when her agent quickly pulled her aside and whispered a few words to her.

The woman gave Zhu Yu a meaningful look and snorted coldly, "You just wait, the role of Qiao Yuan will only be mine."

After saying that, he turned around and led a group of people away aggressively.

Zhu Yu: I want to laugh even more now.

"Don't worry, our casting team has unanimously decided that you are the only Qiao Yuan," the assistant director reassured Zhu Yu.

He frowned again as he spoke: "But I've heard of the person from earlier. She seems to have quite a background, so I'm afraid she won't let this go so easily."

In fact, he already felt that the role of Zhu Yu was doomed, which is why he said those words to comfort her.

That's just how things are in this industry nowadays; even if you have talent, you can't get ahead without someone promoting you.

Even if the casting team unanimously approves of her, what's the use? They can still replace her with just one phone call.

Having been in the industry for decades, the assistant director should have been used to this kind of situation, but when it came to Zhu Yu, he still inexplicably felt a sense of appreciation for her talent.

She is a natural-born actor and should not be overlooked.

He handed Zhu Yu a business card: "This is a friend of mine. He happens to be short of a second female lead. If you're interested, give it a try."

Zhu Yu looked down and exclaimed, "Wow, it's an old acquaintance!"

In the original storyline, Su Xiaoxiao's benefactor was a veteran director who brought her to the public eye for the first time.

And the role played by Su Xiaoxiao happens to be the second female lead.

Zhu Yu didn't have a penchant for stealing other people's opportunities. She accepted the business card but didn't directly reject the assistant director's offer.

She could probably understand the assistant director's concerns. If she were a complete newcomer to acting, then the assistant director's words would indeed be a timely help.

Unfortunately, she wasn't.

She has Fu Wang, hehe.

If you have a powerful backer but don't use it, isn't that just making trouble for yourself?

She auditioned honestly because she didn't want to be so high-profile right from the start, thinking people would think she was some pushover.

That woman better not think about using her power to intimidate others, or she'll definitely show her what real intimidation is.

——

"Mr. Fu, this is Ms. Zhu's itinerary for this morning."

Sun Jin placed a stack of documents on the table and glanced at him discreetly.

Fu Wang sat behind his ebony desk, the cold light from the computer screen reflecting on his sharply defined face, outlining a sharp jawline.

He wore a crisp black shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, revealing his well-defined wrists and fingers with distinct knuckles. A pen twirled between his fingers before being pressed onto the document, his signature sharp and decisive, just like him—unwavering and decisive.

Even when simply looking down to review data, he exudes an aura of unquestionable authority.

A beast in human clothing.

Sun Jin cursed under his breath.

He should let all the female colleagues in the company who have a crush on him see how their unattainable CEO is secretly a hopeless romantic for Ms. Zhu.

They even want to know what someone ate in a day and what mode of transportation they used; they're simply hopeless.

"Put it down and then leave." Fu Wang waved his hand, not even lifting his eyelids.

Just as Sun Jingang turned to leave, Fu Wang suddenly asked, "How did her audition go?"

Sun Jin paused for a moment, then said, "I heard the audition went very well, but she ran into some trouble. An actress with a powerful background is trying to take her role and is putting pressure on her with her resume and connections."

Fu Wang stopped writing with his pen, his eyes instantly turned cold, and his aura suddenly became chilling.

"Find out who's behind that woman and let them know the consequences of offending Zhu Yu."

Sun Jin was secretly delighted. President Fu was finally going to make a move. With him backing him up, the role of Zhu Yu was secure.

"Yes, Mr. Fu, I'll take care of it right away."

After saying that, Sun Jin quickly left the office.

Fu Wang leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers rhythmically on the table, and casually picked up the itinerary record that Sun Jingang had given him and started flipping through it.

His lips unconsciously curled up, and the feeling that everything was under his control made him feel very at ease.

"Little Fish, why are you always so curious about the outside world…" Fu Wang murmured.

Why not just stay obediently by his side? He'd give her anything she wanted.

She was bullied shortly after leaving him; how could he feel comfortable letting her go out?

It's definitely better to keep her by my side.

Fu Wang suddenly remembered that one of his properties was a private sea area, a place with beautiful scenery and seclusion from the world.

The most delicate little fish must be raised in the widest ocean.

——

Zhu Yu had just signed the contract with the production team when she received a call from Fu Wang.

She answered the phone: "Hello, Ah Wang?"

Fu Wang: "What are you doing?"

"I just finished work, and you called right then. Did you miss me?"

Fu Wang didn't answer whether he wanted to or not, but instead proved it with his actions.

"Here's the address, I'll come pick you up."

Zhu Yu had just sent the address when, less than three minutes later, a familiar yet unfamiliar red supercar pulled up in front of her.

Then Fu Wang, dressed in a suit and tie, got out of the car.

Zhu Yu was taken aback, then looked around the car with delight.

"Do you like it?" Fu Wang gently wrapped his arms around her waist, enveloping her completely in his embrace.

Zhu Yu's eyes sparkled as she nodded vigorously, "I like it! Is it for me?"

"Of course, the things that Little Fish likes shouldn't be given to her by others."

"Why are you so nice to me?" Zhu Yu nestled sweetly into Fu Wang's arms, then raised half her head and asked, "But why does it feel a little different from Brother Song's? This one looks more... fancy?"

Fu Wang cupped her fluffy head and placed a kiss on it: "Top-tier."

Zhu Yu's eyes lit up even more: "Wouldn't that be very expensive?"

"My little fish deserves the best."

"Of course!"

Zhu Yu proudly raised her chin.

"Because the best Ah Wang is already mine."

She gently hooked her arms around Fu Wang's neck and placed a light kiss on his cheek.

Like a dragonfly skimming the water, a fleeting touch that ends in an instant.

Fu Wang's eyes darkened, and he pulled her hand into the car.

"Bang."

The car door was slammed shut.

"Yes, I am yours."

The man's voice was low and husky, concealing a chilling emotion.
