From Ling Xiao's perspective, no one currently—including Tang San—could truly be considered a character with "heaven-defying luck" for awakening a Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul with such high Innate Soul Power.
Tang San's Innate Full Soul Power was not a result of sheer luck, but rather due to the Blue Silver Emperor lineage within him that had not yet formally awakened its power.
Ling Xiao had once mused that if Tang San never went to awaken that so-called Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, and if he hadn't been led astray by Yu Xiaogang—instead receiving training from legitimate academy teachers—
He could have evolved his initial ordinary Blue Silver Grass into a top-tier Martial Soul through either the Extreme Stream or the Fusion Stream. By then, even without awakening the bloodline of a soul beast, he could have cultivated a Blue Silver Emperor that belonged solely to him.
In terms of strength, it would certainly be no inferior to the Blue Silver Emperor cultivated by his mother, that Blue Silver Empress.
Furthermore, because the soul beast bloodline would have remained unawakened and recessive, he could have passed down his unique Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul through human inheritance, creating his own Blue Silver Emperor Clan.
It would have been a legendary tale; even without returning to the Clear Sky Sect, he would have shaken the Soul Master world just the same.
What a pity.
It was a pity that Tang Hao lacked discernment and handed Tang San over to Yu Xiaogang.
It was a pity that Yu Xiaogang was a fraud who misled his students, wasting the potential of Tang San's initial Blue Silver Grass. Surely, when Tang Hao rescued Tang San from Spirit Hall in the future, he must have felt some regret.
Otherwise, perhaps he wouldn't have taken Tang San to awaken that soul beast bloodline.
The level of Innate Soul Power being more important than the type of Martial Soul is a principle primarily directed at combat-oriented Martial Souls. Support System Soul Masters, however, place extreme value on the type of Martial Soul.
For them, the Martial Soul type and Innate Soul Power are of equal importance. To be more extreme, for the Support System, the Martial Soul type is arguably more important than Innate Soul Power.
This is because if a Martial Soul is strong, its Innate Soul Power generally won't be too low.
However, high Innate Soul Power doesn't guarantee a strong support Martial Soul; it might just be a stroke of good luck where a mediocre support Martial Soul awakened with high Innate Soul Power.
In the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the inherited Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda is a hegemon among the Augmentation System—and indeed all Support System Martial Souls. Consequently, clan members usually awaken with high Innate Soul Power.
The two factors complement each other. More impressively, while the disciples of the Ning family are not numerous, they aren't exactly rare either. In terms of population, they far surpass the Nine-Hearted Begonia, which is considered a top-tier existence among healing Martial Souls.
These three factors combined make them truly blessed by heaven, which is why the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and its Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda are so famous across the Douluo Continent.
The fundamental differences between Support System and combat-oriented Martial Souls do not stop there. Every Support System Martial Soul that has appeared on the continent thus far was born with its unique power.
Not a single Support System Martial Soul has been "forged" from a non-support or ordinary Martial Soul using methods like the Extreme Stream or Fusion Stream.
The current consensus in the Soul Master world is that the power inherent in Support System Martial Souls is extremely specialized. They do not focus on their own combat capability but on assisting others.
Soul beasts, however, are almost entirely focused on their own combat prowess, as only through personal strength can they survive in the cruel environment of the law of the jungle. Therefore, it is impossible to create a Support System Martial Soul through cultivation after the fact.
Although the Douluo Continent is vast and the exact number of soul beast species remains unknown, soul beasts possessing powers similar to support Martial Souls aren't entirely non-existent.
For example, Spirit Hall once discovered an extremely unique soul beast: the Emerald Swan.
This creature possesses immensely powerful life force. In terms of the sheer strength of life force, it is no weaker than top-tier plant-type soul beasts of the same cultivation level.
However, unlike those plant-type beasts, the Emerald Swan's massive life force does not provide it with enough strength to protect itself. Its direct combat power is weak; it could even be hunted by a soul beast with a far weaker bloodline at the same cultivation level.
The Emerald Swan's healing power is incredibly potent.
To soul beasts, it is like a Healing System Soul Master among humans—except that most soul beasts want to hunt and devour it. The pure and vast life energy contained within an Emerald Swan is no less than any natural treasure; eating one can lead to a massive leap in cultivation.
Some within Spirit Hall theorized that if an ordinary Martial Soul absorbed a soul ring from a soul beast like the Emerald Swan, it might acquire pure healing abilities, and the Martial Soul's origin would be influenced to produce power similar to a Healing System Martial Soul.
This was a theoretical way to "craft" a Support System Martial Soul.
Unfortunately, this was only feasible in theory; there was no practical way to execute it. As a non-innate support Martial Soul, an ordinary soul would still maintain the stability of a combat-type origin even after gaining pure healing power from an Emerald Swan ring.
It would lack that special "strong stability" unique to true Support System Martial Souls.
While one could theoretically solve this by exclusively absorbing rings from soul beasts like the Emerald Swan, such creatures are simply too rare. Even with explosive luck, finding one or two is insufficient to forge a complete Support System Martial Soul.
Once the user inevitably absorbs a soul ring from another type of beast and gains a combat ability, they simply become a Battle Soul Master with some healing capabilities. Such Soul Masters are not rare, and their Martial Souls are not classified as support souls.
They are merely ordinary Battle Soul Masters.
This is the perspective regarding the Healing System.
As for creating a Curse System Martial Soul, while some soul beasts possess curse-like abilities, every such beast discovered so far also possesses formidable combat strength. Therefore, even if one absorbs their soul rings, the development still leans toward combat power.
One might gain curse-like abilities, but they cannot cultivate a true Curse System Martial Soul.
As for the Augmentation System, that is even more of a lost cause.
Because the Augmentation System is the most direct form of support, among all soul beasts discovered to date, not a single species—not even a single individual—has been found to possess the clear ability to directly augment the power of other living beings.
This is the root reason why the vast majority of people in the Soul Master world believe that Curse System Soul Masters should not be classified under the Control System.
Control System Martial Souls follow the cultivation laws of the Battle Soul Master lineage and can be "forged" into different types of control souls based on various cultivation schools.
But Curse System Soul Masters can only rely on innate Curse System support Martial Souls; they cannot be created. Furthermore, their supportive power is determined almost entirely by the Martial Soul itself, with the soul rings playing a minimal role in shaping that essence.
