Chapter 4 - Fate of a Cultivator is Challenge

'Dual Cultivation is an option. I am eighteen, and Erena is already twenty-two. Our age gap isn't a problem.'

'But I can not accept the idea of abandoning her after establishing a relationship with her.'

'What should I do?'

Tyler was having problems digesting the fact that he was being led by this tower.

After all, his problems didn't stem from the Dual Cultivation Technique, but its evolution method.

As stated before, this technique was only D-Grade. If he planned to use this at this level forever, it would take him at least a month to cross the first level.

Each Realm had nine levels. But that's the problem. Each level was twice as hard, so it would take two months to cross the second level.

Considering that his talent was highly restricted by the grade of his Technique, he would encounter several bottlenecks between each level.

So, unless he upgraded his technique, he could only reach the peak of the Mana Condensation Realm in his lifetime.

The only way to evolve this method was through dual cultivation with a certain individual in the tower.

That meant every floor of this tower essentially had a wife for him.

The problem? He didn't know anything about his so-called wife. As a transmigrated soul, he knew this tower would be ancient.

Because women would be thousands, if not millions of years old, even if they were beautiful, he couldn't accept being together with someone he didn't even know before.

But he didn't have a choice. If he wanted to evolve his technique, he must dual cultivate with those nine women.

He didn't have a problem with this. Sometimes an inherent technique could be very evil. His elders had already mentioned this before.

So, the Dual Cultivation Technique wasn't exactly an evil technique unless it was a one-way dual cultivation technique.

Dual Cultivation Techniques were divided into two different parts: one-way and two-way.

One-way Dual Cultivation Technique would allow a person to absorb another person's cultivation and essence without giving anything in return.

The Two-way Dual Cultivation Technique would allow a person to absorb another person's cultivation while also giving a portion of their essence to their partners.

Harmony of Nine Phoenixes was both. It was a two-way cultivation technique, but only if it was used together with those nine women.

He hadn't confirmed it yet. But from the information in his mind, he concluded that he couldn't take this risk unless he was willing to let Erena suffer.

How did he come to such a conclusion?

This technique worked by absorbing the Yin Essence from the woman and merging it with his Yang Essence to increase the quality of the mana.

If he absorbed one portion of spiritual energy and enhanced it with yin-yang essence, it would become two portions of mana.

This would effectively double his cultivation speed. After upgrading his technique, this benefit would also increase to four times, six times, and even eight times.

But the problem came with its instruction. He couldn't give away his Yang Essence unless he reached a certain realm.

This was a big problem because if he didn't give away his Yang Essence, Erena wouldn't be able to replenish her Yin Essence.

Without replenishing her Yin Essence, her body would absorb her cultivation to replenish it automatically, destroying her cultivation.

Although the process would be much slower.

Because of this, he couldn't practice this technique unless he was willing to sacrifice Erena. The problem was that he couldn't.

He was desperate, sure. But he wasn't a monster.

Erena spent at least ten years with him. In these ten years, they had been very close. If he wanted to have sex with her, she wouldn't disagree.

But this wasn't possible. He would rather die than destroy the future of someone close to him.

Thinking about it, Tyler suddenly smiled.

'You think you have me under your control? If I weren't a transmigrated person, sure, you might've controlled me with these conditions.'

'Unfortunately, I know what I need to do.'

Didn't he just need Yin Essence?

It didn't need to come from dual cultivation. After all, Dual Cultivation wasn't simply a method of absorbing Yin Essence from a woman or Yang Essence from a man.

It was just a technique to absorb Yin and Yang Essence. So, he just needed to find Yin Essence.

How could he find it? It was simple. He could buy it. He could search for it. He could even visit a certain place and absorb Yin Energy from there.

His goal shouldn't be dual cultivation. His goal should simply be Tempered Body Realm to unlock the first floor and awaken his true inherent technique.

'But, for now, let's see how fast I can cultivate!'

Tyler thought to himself as he started his Inherited Technique. At this moment, he felt a large wind hitting against his skin.

His body started absorbing the spiritual energy from the wind, entering his body through the pores all over his body.

This process wasn't fast.

At this moment, he understood what it meant to be slow. He cultivated for the entire night, only to absorb enough spiritual energy to fill one part of the Mana Circuit.

There were three hundred and sixty parts.

By the time it refined the spiritual energy into mana, the quantity decreased from one part to half.

Next Day;

Tyler stood up from his bed and walked out. Despite cultivating the entire night, he hadn't felt sleepy.

Instead, meditation helped him replace his sleep. Still, he realized a problem with full-time cultivation.

His Mana Circuit was still very young. If he continued using it for a long time, it would put a massive strain on it.

Just because one part of the mana circuit was filled didn't mean only one part was used during the absorption process.

The entire mana circuit was put on heavy strain throughout the process.

At this moment, he understood why having talent mattered.

If someone was cultivated with S-Grade talent, it was said that they could reach the first level in a single day. This was kinda ridiculous.

Since they also cultivated for eight hours a day.

'I need to buy Yin Essence. One good thing about having money is that any problem that money can solve is not a problem.'

He thought to himself as he walked to the living room.

"Erena, warm some food!"

"Yes, Young Master!"

A shout came from the kitchen. Tyler waited in the living room until he smelled the fragrance of the food.

Soon, he heard a call from Erena and rushed into the kitchen. She had made butter chicken, rice, vegetables, and soup.

He finished three plates of rice, two bowls of butter chicken, one bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of soup.

After finishing his meal, he told Erena that he would be out for a while. He told her to prepare everything since they will be leaving today.

Erena also informed him that Alfred had prepared a new ID card for him. After taking his new ID card, he left.

He went to the library of the clan.

Every important place in the clan had an elder supervising it. So, this library also had an elder.

He was a peak Tempered Body Realm cultivator, but they weren't close like the Third Elder.

Of course, Tyler wasn't exactly close to anyone in the clan except for Alfred and Erena.

"Stop! Who are you?"

The elder stopped him before he entered through the door. He clearly didn't recognize Tyler.

"My name is Tyler. Here is my identification!"

Tyler took out a card and showed it to the elder. The elder read the ID card, and after matching it with Tyler's, he nodded and let Tyler enter the library.

While the Inherited Technique was an innate thing, combat techniques and auxiliary techniques could be acquired.

Of course, some would even create their own combat techniques.

After all, they were just the methods of utilizing the mana for different purposes.

Some Inherited Techniques had a unique advantage over certain kinds of power, but most were rather common, allowing people to learn a variety of techniques.

For example, Elemental Techniques, Transformation Techniques, Enhancement Techniques, and Recovery Techniques.

Every major clan would have a library full of these techniques. So, when he entered the library, all he could see were large cabinets full of books and scrolls.

He strolled around the library. After nearly an hour of selection, he found four techniques that suited him the best.

He could get up to five techniques, but he chose four since these four were enough for him.

If he wanted more, he could return to the clan or even buy elsewhere.

Taking these four techniques, he went to the elder and registered his name and these four books under his name.

Although he had formed a little bit of mana, he would need it later. So, he took the books and returned to his house.
