Kyle's eyes widened and he trembled as a bead of sweat ran down his head.
The Windan Empire was commonly known to all in the Kingdom as a territory with a tyrant as its emperor.
Being one of the three continents, the only reason the Kingdom hadn't waged war was because of the peace-seeking royal family.
"H-how will I get there?" He didn't have any immediate urge to become a felon in two continents so easily.
The hooded figure smiled, his teeth very white against the dark backdrop.
A scowl unconsciously twisted on Kyle's face as he stared at the man's smile.
'He shouldn't be amused. This is my life we're dealing with.'
Yet he didn't answer Kyle, instead turning to Sacred Sound.
"He's quite a feisty one, isn't he? No wonder you kept him." His voice was rough.
Kyle clenched his fists for the umpteenth time and he dug his nails into his palms. The pain was the only thing stopping him from punching either of them.
Sacred Sound's eyes flickered to Kyle then settled back on the hooded figure, "I'd advise you not to antagonize one another."
She turned away, walking away.
Kyle tried to walk to her but a hand grabbed him.
He immediately spun on his foot, launching a fist at the hooded figure.
His fist paused mid-swing, mere millimeters from the man's face.
Kyle's fists shook in the air yet he couldn't move it any further. It was like he was placing his fist against a brick wall.
The hooded figure pulled down his hood, revealing a man with a marred face and milky eyes.
Scars filled his face, barely leaving any normal skin visible.
Kyle's jaw dropped and his stomach stirred. Such a sight wasn't one to digest easily.
"I do not care if you get there in one piece or otherwise. I'm delivering you there." Hoodie pulled the hood over himself.
Hoodie spent a few seconds staring at Kyle's frozen fist.
He backed away, letting go of Kyle and the latter's fist moved forward, throwing him off balance.
Kyle stumbled but managed to catch himself before he fell.
His eyes burned as he stared at Hoodie.
'This bastard!' He rushed to his feet and charged to Hoodie.
Mid-run, a sudden calm rushed through him. His footsteps slowed and he stood in place smiling.
For the first time in a while, Kyle felt utter and true peace.
Hoodie walked to Kyle, "Try me again and I won't placate you."
Just as quickly as it had come, the calm gave way for his more familiar irritation.
A shiver ran down Kyle's spine. He hadn't noticed the eerieness of his calm until he was back to normal.
Hoodie smiled, flashing his white teeth and turned his back to Kyle.
'He is… dangerous, far too much for to ever hope to handle. Perhaps a compromise is better. Compliance seems to be working for me.'
Kyle nodded to himself, that's what he'd try to do.
Hoodie looked over his shoulder at Kyle, "I suppose we should start moving. We don't have long."
Before Kyle could blink, Hoodie was already in front of him with his arm outstretched.
He clasped his palm tightly on Kyle's shoulder and the both of them vanished.
A blurry haze of flashing images and locations rushed by Kyle, making bile rise up his throat.
He bit back the tears that threatened to fall from the burn.
They suddenly stopped and Kyle fell to his knees, throwing up on the floor.
He threw a fierce glare at Hoodie but the latter either not noticing or caring, looked ahead.
They were in a dark wooden room with lanterns hung above for illumination.
The night sky was visible from the windows in the place and for a second, Kyle thought he was back underneath the court until the smell of salt and water hit him.
"Are we on a boat?" He wiped his mouth and turned to Hoodie.
Hoodie pulled down his hood and Kyle shuddered, "A ship but yes, we are indeed on a ship. We are going to leave in a day. This isn't the time."
He walked out of the room and Kyle was left by himself.
Kyle sat on the cool, wooden floor.
His eyes half-lidded and he nodded off before catching himself. He ran his hand across his face but that didn't help.
He kept his eye to the door, 'Is this another mental attack of sorts?'
Neither Hoodie nor anyone else was there.
'I'll be leaving this Kingdom tomorrow.' With that final thought, he gave in to the lull of sleep.
