POV: Leah
Leah was at work when her manager suddenly stopped in front of her
"Leah, it seems you're tired of working, right?" he said sharply.
"I'm sorry, sir," she replied quickly, lowering her head.
"Stop saying sorry," he snapped. "Or do you think because you've received your salary, you can start acting lazy?"
Leah's expression shifted slightly. For a moment, her mind drifted—she remembered how her father took her money.
"Hey! Hey!" the manager waved his hand in front of her face.
She blinked and straightened immediately. "Oh… sorry, sir."
"One last chance," he warned before walking away.
Leah let out a small breath, trying to steady herself. She turned to leave her station, but as she took a step forward, her shoe step on her shoe lace .
Before she could react, she lost her balance.
She was falling.
But then—strong arms caught her just before she hit the ground.
"Are you okay?" a deep voice asked.
Leah slowly looked up.
A very handsome man stood in front of her, holding her steady. He had sharp features, calm eyes, and an effortless charm that made her pause for a second.
For a moment, she was stunned.
Not as stunning as that hotel guy she once met with… but he covers his face immediately
"Are you okay?" he asked again, gently bringing her back to reality.
"Oh… yes. Thank you for saving me," she said softly, stepping back slightly.
"It's okay," he replied with a small smile. "You look beautiful, by the way."
Leah blinked, surprised by his boldness. "Thanks," she answered quietly.
The man nodded as if he wanted to say more, then turned to leave. After a few steps, he stopped.
"Hey… wait," he called.
Leah turned back. "Yes?"
He studied her for a moment. "You don't know me?"
"No," she said honestly.
He seemed a little taken aback, then gave a soft chuckle. "Oh… okay."
Without another word, he walked away.
Leah watched him go, confused but slightly amused.
Why should I know him? she thought. But… he's cute anyway.
Meanwhile—
Taejun's POV
I was sitting in the living room, but my mind wasn't here.
Jaemin and Sungjae were around, but neither of them even bothered looking at me properly. Probably because I still refused to tell them what happened last night
I don't even know her name.
I'll just pretend I don't care.
But damn… she's too beautiful to be a cleaner.
What am I even thinking?
"Taejun!" Jaemin's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Are you going to stand there like a fool and not tell us what happened?"
Sungjae rolled his eyes. "Or what? You got yourself a girlfriend?"
My chest tightened slightly at that word, but I ignored it.
Just then, Jaemin leaned forward. "Actually… there's this girl I met—"
Sungjae immediately hissed. "Here we go again."
Jaemin stood up. "What? I'm serious this time."
"You're always serious until you're bored in two days," Sungjae shot back. "We know you."
Jaemin scoffed. "You don't even listen."
Before the argument could continue, the doorbell rang.
One of Jaemin's girls had arrived.
Without saying a word, Taejun stood up, shoved his hands into his pockets, and walked away.
"I'm not dealing with this," he muttered under his breath as he headed straight to his room, leaving the tension behind him.
POV Leah
I was done for the day and had already decided to head home—or maybe stop by Sarah's place—when I suddenly heard my name.
"Leah!"
I froze.
That voice… I knew it.
I turned around and saw Daniel , He was smiling like he had been expecting me.
"Wow," he said, placing a hand on his chest dramatically. "You're not happy to see me?"
Leah rolled her eyes. "Of course I am… I'm just tired."
Daniel laughed lightly. "Sure, sure. By the way, have you gotten your phone yet?"
"No," she replied. "Not yet."
"Let me drop you off then," he offered immediately.
"No, don't bother," Leah started to say, but before she could finish, Daniel's phone rang.
He checked it quickly and sighed. "I'm sorry… something came up. I have to go."
Leah nodded. "It's okay."
Daniel gave her a quick smile. "I'll make it up to you. When I'm done, we have a lot to talk about."
"Okay," she said, giving him a small wave as he left.
Leah turned to walk away—but then she heard her name again.
"Leah…"
She paused and turned around slowly.
A guy stood there wearing a cap and a nose mask. He looked a little mysterious, like he was hiding his face on purpose.
Leah took a small step back. "Um… who are you?"
The guy tilted his head slightly and pulled his mask down just a bit.
"Oh… it's you, Leah," said.
Leah relaxed a little and smiled. "How do you know I'm here?"
"I saw you passing by ,he replied casually.
"Ohh… okay," she said, still curious. Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Aren't you suffocating with all that on your face?"
He laughed softly. "You wouldn't understand."
Leah folded her arms. "Alright then… what do you want?"
"I want to take you somewhere," he said. "To see something. I hope you don't mind."
Leah hesitated for a second, then nodded. "Okay… but you have to take off your mask when we get there."
"Of course," he agreed immediately.
"Alright then, let's go."
A short while later, they arrived at a high place overlooking the city.
The view was breathtaking—stars scattered across the sky, the moon glowing softly, and the city lights shining below like tiny diamonds.
"Wow…" Leah breathed, her eyes wide. "This is beautiful."
She looked around again, completely amazed, her gaze fixed on the sky.
"Wow…" she repeated softly, almost forgetting everything else.
The guy beside her watched her quietly.
"Careful," he said gently, reaching out and holding her hand. "Don't slip."
"Oh… thanks," she said quickly, realizing how distracted she had been. "I got carried away."
Then she turned to him again. "So… how do you know my name?"
"I heard it when you were with that guy earlier," he replied.
"Oh, really?" she said, still looking up at the stars.
"Yes," he answered.
A brief silence followed.
Then Leah asked, "So what's your name? And why do you keep covering your face?"
He hesitated for a moment, like he wasn't sure how to answer.
"My name is Jaemin," he finally said.
"Oh…" she replied softly. "And your face?"
He adjusted his mask slightly. "Because of my mother. She's very protective… she always has people following me without my permission."
Leah blinked in surprise. "Wow… she must be really popular for her to do that."
"Not really," Jaemin said quickly. "She's just… overprotective."
Leah nodded slowly. "I get it. Parents can be like that."
A moment passed.
Then she glanced at the sky again. "I should go now."
"Okay," Jaemin said quietly.
She smiled at him. "Thank you for this."
He nodded and quickly pulled his mask back up.
"See you next time," he said.
"Sure," Leah replied, waving slightly.
And with that, she turned and walked away, still thinking about the stars… and the mysterious boy named Jaemin.
