Chapter 6 - First Fight

Note I have come to realize im bad at describing stats after last chapter so Ill work on that

January 5th

I leave my new base, ready for my first real fight, I hoping that I can apply my training to combat properly

Walking to the nearest manhole, I lift the cover, drop in the speaker I bought specifically for this, and hit play on my phone.

"Killer Croc is a sewer‑dwelling rat who has to stick his dick in dead rats because no woman would ever want him."

That should do it. From what I've heard, Killer Croc is one ugly motherfucker with anger issues. But that's exactly why I want to fight him.

Based on the damage he leaves behind when he fights Batman, Croc is stronger than Bane — but he's stupid. And that makes him perfect.

Quirks grow the fastest when you dance on the edge of death. The desire to live, succeed, and break limits pushes the body and mind to new heights.

So using the foundation my training has built, I want to set my soul ablaze—

cough cough

Since when am I such a dork?

A deep voice echoes from below.

"Who dared insult me in my turf?"

Crawling out of the sewer is the green, mean machine himself — Killer Croc. I look him dead in the eye.

"It was me, shithead. Let's dance."

I explode forward. Croc freezes for a moment, shocked that some nobody had the balls to call him out. Staying low, I rush straight for his knee.

The moment I'm beneath him, I Harden — increasing my weight — and drop my jagged elbow like a spike onto his kneecap.

The impact slices through tendons. Not enough to take the leg, but enough to cripple it.

Croc roars in pain and swings a full‑power strike at me. I try to retreat but I'm too slow. All I can do is Harden to my limit—

Crunch.

His blow breaks my left arm and pops my shoulder out of place.

I should be afraid. I should be screaming.

But instead…

I'm smiling.

So this is combat. This is putting my life on the line… I could've died if he hit my head. But the thought of overcoming death — of becoming the strongest shield and the strongest spear — is so exhilarating.

I rush Croc again. He's ready this time, but he can't move well with his ruined knee.

He swings. Using my good arm, I slip inside his strike. His scales grind against my hardened, jagged body — but my body is tougher.

The force of his blow tears his weaker scales apart as they scrape along my arm. Keeping my momentum, I push deeper into his guard — only for him to lunge forward and try to bite me.

I drop my weight and perform a spinning hook kick, slamming my heel into Croc's jaw. The recoil from his unmoving frame knocks me flat on my ass.

Croc recovers and starts pounding me into the concrete. I hold onto my Hardening as long as I can until he smashes me through the ground and into the sewer below.

Disgusting as it is, the sewer water shocks me awake. I use Occlumency to lock the pain away, drag myself up the ladder, and climb back to the surface.

Croc is catching his breath, completely unaware I'm still alive.

Summoning the last of my strength, I approach him. My Occlumency focuses on one task:

How do I hit the hardest?

I get into position and deliver the best punch of my life, activating Hardening to boost myself as much as possible.

My fist slams into the back of Croc's head so hard his brain rattles. He drops unconscious — just before I do.

???? POV

That child has potential. I saw it — the boy knows martial arts. That hook kick, that final punch… beautiful. But throughout the whole fight, he only used a few techniques. Such a waste.

The old man watches as both fighters collapse.

It's been a while since I last taught, he thinks, picking up the boy and walking away.

This may be fun
