Chapter 5 - Training 2

A Month Since the Initial Planning — May 3rd

It seems I greatly underestimated how hard it would be to make my mind palace run automatically to improve my talent.

But nonetheless, I managed to do it — and the difference is insane.

What used to be a single concept written in a textbook has now become countless new methods of application. It's amazing. Like going from black and white to full color… but I digress.

Now that the hardest part of Occlumency is done, it's like having a game engine where I just add assets. Still not easy, but at least I don't have to design everything from scratch.

Using my now‑improved intelligence, I make two more games before lunch: Clash of Clans and Clash Royale — the two biggest money scams in existence. I upload them to Ubisoft, which, from Flappy Bird alone, has already paid back half the money I spent on advertising. The player count keeps growing.

With that income, I can finally focus on my physical development. I spend the last of my money on two months of rent, basic gym equipment, and a customized hot tub.

Luckily, Gotham is full of shady folks — buying this stuff legally would've been impossible due to the cost.

A Few Hours Later

I set up my equipment and begin my new training routine. Right now, my natural, untrained maxes are:

Bench: 255 lbs

Squat: 345 lbs

Deadlift: 385 lbs

Not terrible for someone who hasn't trained seriously, but I need to increase these numbers a lot.

Getting used to summoning my quirk's strength during peak exertion is tricky, but I can feel in my bones that I'm on the right track.

After lifting, I grab a quick bite to eat and move on to shadowboxing. Thanks to my mind palace, the simulations are hyper‑realistic. I run interval training with my quirk the entire time.

Then Comes My Greatest Idea Yet: The Hot Tub

This hot tub was customized to simulate crashing waves — the tide slamming into me repeatedly. The water damages my entire body, especially when I add salt to increase density or gravel to scrape me during each impact.

When I have more money, I'll add dry ice to lower the temperature or use the heating system to raise it. Neither extreme will be lethal, but both will help build resistance.

I strap myself down and let the water hammer me. Over and over, the waves crash into me, breaking off bits of my Hardening while I do my best to keep it active.

20 Minutes Later

I shut the machine down and take a breather. Then I make supper. The food looks nasty, but tastes amazing — ground beef fried with six eggs and two kiwis. Hits most of my micronutrients and gives me a solid chunk of protein.

Still, I'll need more than the average person due to my quirk's demands, so I'm preparing to increase my food intake.

Once I finish eating, I check my Ubisoft income, then get back to work on my dungeon — starting with Floor One.

Two Months Later — July 6th

I've made massive progress. I'd estimate around a 150% improvement in overall comprehension. I'm ready to add gravel and temperature manipulation to the hot tub.

Ubisoft has taken off, leaving my finances in a great place. So I start working on my next big project — something to make my company more than just scummy mobile games (which I've been updating). I begin developing Minecraft.

My dungeon has reached Floor 18. Unlike the original anime, bosses spawn the moment someone enters, not on a rigid timer. The "Rest" floors are now filled with booby traps and stealth monsters.

My funds are now high enough that I can add martial arts training to my routine and begin integrating everything into a style tailored for me.

Six Months Later — January 1st, 2010

(The starting year of Young Justice)

Compared to when I started, I've improved by roughly 300%, though progress has slowed. Not stopped — just slowed.

My Hardening now works effectively down to –30°C and up to 70°C.

My martial arts have reached a new level thanks to the Familia system in my mind palace, which has slowly figured out what techniques suit me best. In chemistry, physics, engineering, kinesiology, and programming, I've reached the level of a fresh undergraduate.

The dungeon is now down to Floor 28.

Ubisoft continues to explode in popularity, especially after the release of Undertale, giving me enough money to buy an abandoned warehouse that I'm turning into a home/base.

The only thing left is upgrading my training tools — but that's getting expensive due to the materials I need and the cost of keeping everything under the radar. If I bought what I needed in bulk, I'm pretty sure Batman would be breathing down my neck.

So the only option left is…

Hero Time. Just kidding.

But I do need real combat experience — going all out — if I want to keep growing. And Gotham is full of villains.

Guilt‑free punching bags

--------------------------------------------

Stats

Bench:765ibs

Deadlift: 1155ibs

Squat: 1035ibs

Destruction ability: Can punch straight though a 6inch steel door

Hardening: Could take at least one punch form bane to the chest and still fight pretty well, AP rounds from a normal m16 might make home bleed, but only to the level of a paper cut. Sniper goes to his bones but not through them
