Mark Mays sat in his dark cell, counting the minutes until the guards come and bring them their small morsel of food. He has been locked up in "Days End" prison for he doesn't how long, he estimated in been four years. He suddenly stopped counting and stood up, going to the entrance of his cell and looked at the hall way listening if someone is coming.
He just stood there and waited until he heard the large rusted door open up, Mark heard the guards talking to someone that seemed important. The people were not bringing chow but seemed to be interested in something. He realized that group would stop periodically from time to time and talk to an inmate , then he would hear the rusted cell door open up.
They moved in the hall slowly until they reached him, Mark looked up them and realized the important figure was the warden and beside him were some guards. He seen the warden before a heavy set man but he was built. When you are sentence n this prison the man would have the new inmates be beaten near death while he read the rules of the place.
He would then throw you in the hole for a few days , while the guards would keep you awake by throwing cold dirty water at you while they read the rules. The systematic inhuman treatment of new inmates would happen again and again for a year until you realize the rules of the place and learned how to follow it.
Mark was told to wake a few steps back away from the barred door by the lead guard.
"Mark Mays right?"
Mark nodded but didn't say as the rules dictate that no one can talk back to the guards.
The guard then was handed a file and read from it by the warden who kept his eyes on Mark.
"You have been charge with ten counts of criminal murder homicide, six counts first degree arson , Three counts of Illegal trafficking"
Mark nodded again.
The guard looked at the warden and he seemed satisfied as he gave the guard a nod, The guard opened the bean slot and told Mark to slowly approach.
Mark didn't know what was happening as they put the belly chain on him and he was escorted to the back with the other inmates that was also chained and guarded by men with arms.
The group walked and stopped from time to time and as the group grew in numbers they finally stopped and headed out of the block. They took some twist and turns as the prison was made to be a maze.
The group moved in a manner that seemed to be going down, they arrived then they were separated into four groups and their belly chain was unlocked while the guards kept their weapons pointed at the inmates.
" Raise your hands if you want to get out of here?" The warden spoke
The inmates looked at the warden without saying"
The warden nodded at one of the guard sand one of the inmates was shit through the head. As the mans head exploded the inmates stayed still at this was the life in " Days End" prison the guards have the power on your life and death.
The warden nodded again and another inmates head exploded.
"Good you know the rules" The warden nodded and continued to speak.
"Your freedom is being bought, whoever survive here will be freed and will work for that person"
Clicking his finger the guards moved with boxes to each group and from a distance they threw the box down and as the the box hot the ground it opened on impact and inside were improvised weapons.
"I need thirty men , kill each other now and if not you will all die here"
The warden tuned around then said begin as he walked away , heading towards the exit while the rest of the guards kept their gun pointed at the inmates.
Rodulf sat in the office of the warden with the deputy warden and waited , Rudolf was talked to gather some men who were not afraid to use systematic violence against others. The door then opened and a guard walked through and behind him was the warden.
The warden then sat in his office chair while the deputy warden made coffee and the guard stood at standby flanking the warden.
"Ten minutes it will be done, your requirements will be met trust me"
Rudolf nodded and they waited until ten minutes passed by, the warden stood up and told Rudolf to follow him into another building. After arriving to the building he saw a group of thirty individuals that were covered in blood from head to toe and were in chains surrounded by guards.
"I have my own procedure for the requirements that you needed"
The thirty men that survive stood with exhausted expressions after the brutal affair then steadied themselves when the warden showed up with another man." Thirteen thousand din for each man and two hundred thousand for my troubles".
"I'll take them if their willing" Rudolf responded
The warden the stepped forward where the inmates were being held and spoke " This man is willing to buy your freedom if you're willing to work for him"
"If your willing raise your hand"
All the inmates raised their hands , they were willing to get out of this place.
The warden then walked back to Rudolf and pointed at the group " They are all willing".
Rudolf paid the warden his dues and the inmates were taken away so they can be cleaned.
When Rudolf left the warden burned their files and erased all and any of their traces of being in that prison.
After the inmates were cleaned they were taken outside where an unanimous bus and people were waiting for them. They were then transported to an unknown location by those people by the time they arrived wherever it was the man that was with the warden was waiting for them with another group of people.
They were then told to line up and stand ready and when they lined up the man spoke.
Mark looked at the short but bulky man as the man spoke to the group.
"I am Rudolf, you now work for me and my boss"
After a brief introduction of who he was and what he did and what they were going to do they were then hosed in mobile units until the following day. The next day the former inmates were three days to themselves and some cash and told to go handle whatever they need to.
The inmates were confused but still took the money and handle what they needed to, they were actually thankful that they can go out and buy whatever they needed and visit those that needed to be visited.
Three days later all the inmates showed back in that area where Rudolf waited, satisfied that all of the inmates came back he explained to them that they are now his soldiers and soldiers of Erwin. He went into a short in-depth talk about the operation he was involved in and now that they are here they would also be part of the operation.
It was in-depth and short then he took the group to the gathering place of Darby , arriving there he introduced his new men to the group then talked to Darby.
Rudolf put the new men in security duty first with the street muscle where they could integrate themselves but he didn't let them go unarmed. Rudolf gave them small arms and small melee weapons that they could use.He first planned that the new people would learn the ropes of the operation with the former and then they would move from there.
A month into it and the former inmates was now moving into the groove of things , Rudolf told them to move outwards towards the other existing territory near them to gauge the them but they should move in groups but they should not engage and just browse around until their faces becomes known.
The former inmates did as they were told , they moved into the neighboring territory until their faces were known and when they were known. One morning the group got a call from Rudolf for them to meet up, when they arrived and were given certain instructions.
The group then separated their own ways and headed towards the neighboring territory, as night fell one of Paul Kotchs men were getting ready to head out to the group local hang around.
"Wait up man"
"Oh hey man, its you"
"What you got ?"
"I got everything man"
The man was reaching into his pocket when the guy in front of him lunged at him, hitting him in the eye ball so hard that his eye popped out his socket. The man felt the slight pop of his eyes as he fell, as he was in the ground he then felt a sharp and burning sensation and blacked out.
Mark waited until nightfall when no one was around then called out the pusher, the pusher though he was buying something put his guard down and he was hit the side of the head with the back of Mark's knife.
That happened throughout the night as Paul Kotchs men were killed on the streets one by one, in the following morning Paul Kotchs was found dead in his house, his skin stripped and eye balls gauge out and his tongue missing.
For each kill Rudolf paid each man fifteen thousand din for each man they killed, they also can keep the loot they acquired from each kill.
The group of killers looked at each other with beaming smiles, these men were not saints and were sent to prison for all kinds of serious criminal misconduct, they could not believe they were being paid to kill people.
Erwin then move his operation outward and unnoticed as he took Paul Kotchs territory, he had Lucas meet and pay the local cops putting some of them in his pocket.
Lucas just didn't pay the local cops worked his way up by bribing his way up, with local introductions he eventually met the police chief and their talk was productive.
Since the nearby territory was now occupied Erwin began focusing his energy to his next objective, at that was to expand his local reach to the community.He gathered intelligence and found that he will go on imports next , dipping his hands into smuggling. He will have the public sated with goods that he could acquire while he will also smuggle goods outward.
Erwin then called Captain Elizabeth , throwing her a business proposition. Since the military is in control of the country Captain Elizabeth should have contacts with someone in the Ministry of commerce (MOC).
Captain Elizabeth agreed after Erwin promised that he will pay for the smuggling to and fro and even will split the profits with her and whoever her contact is with the Ministry of commerce (MOC). Captain Elizabeth made a call to one of her former colleague who used to work with her and now worked in the (MOC).
Her former colleague immediately agreed to her proposal but she said she needed to vet available ships first before they proceed with the plan and he needed to grease some hands. Erwin immediately sent the funds and waited for Captain Elizabeth colleague to give the okay.
