The rusted iron grate screamed as Draven pushed it aside.
He dropped into the pitch black of the underground passage. His boots hit the damp stone without a sound. He was deep beneath the ruined outskirts of Sector Four.
He was standing in the forgotten service tunnels cut by pre-Vanguard mining consortiums, a network that had remained unmapped for forty years.
Sogaar had mapped it. The information broker had earned his gold.
Draven pulled his dark coat tight. He carried no heavy packs. He had no armored transport crawler. He did not have his squad at his back, and he did not hold a communication crystal in his hand.
For the first time since he had woken up in the dirt of a Cult dungeon, Draven Mordis was truly alone.
