And she was met with no replies. When she arrived at the estate, Alia knew there was no way to escape because as the gate opened for the cars to enter, she saw rows of bodyguards.
She remembered that upon her entry into the house, she was taken to a room by the maid. Due to the emotional turbulence she had faced, she slept off after a shower, only to wake up to the clinking of a chain.
She tried moving her hands only to feel a constraint. As she did so, she opened her eyes to see what was the cause, then she realized she was chained.
"You're awake?"
Then a voice sounded from above, so she sat up and glanced at Cosimo. Behind him was a maid bringing in a tray of food.
"Cosimo, what is the meaning of this?"
But she received no response. So as the food was placed beside her, she grabbed the tray and threw its contents on the floor.
She remembered how Cosimo cleaned the injuries she got from the food splash, and then he left.
Her days went on like this until she became quiet and stopped complaining and throwing tantrums.
Probably out of pity, Cosimo decided to take her to a family gathering, where she met Clide, Cosimo's elder brother.
He pitied her and promised to help her escape. The plan was quick: a maid poured a drink on Cosimo's shirt and he went to change. Using this, she was able to leave the gathering.
Her way out was easier than expected as the guards were not paying attention to her. After leaving the gate, she ran as fast as she could until the estate finally disappeared from her view.
Then she booked a cab, only stopping when her stomach grumbled, reminding her that she had not eaten anything at the gathering as she was thinking of ways to escape.
So she stopped the cab at a restaurant. After eating, she paid and left. On her way, she passed by an alley where she was suddenly surrounded by a group of delinquents.
Alia remembered being saved by her beloved Ryan. She fell in love with him at first sight as he saved her from the thugs. Later, she realized he was a police officer, and she was invited to his place when she said she had nowhere to go.
Ryan treated her kindly and patiently, such that she burst into tears, telling him about all her grievances and how she was locked up by Cosimo.
Their peaceful days were eventually interrupted when Cosimo threatened her with Ryan, who had been beaten up badly with his arms broken.
So she returned back to Cosimo's side, but this time around the security was tighter than before.
The contrast of how she was treated by both men made her resentment for Cosimo increase. So she began throwing tantrums and berating the maids until Cosimo had to change them all and employ another set of people.
Somehow Ryan was able to send someone to her during this phase.
She remembered how the maid had sent her a piece of paper along with her food.
So she asked about Ryan, only to be informed that he was doing well, only facing occasional issues caused by Cosimo.
The maid continued to give her updates about Ryan, telling her how much he had endured from Cosimo, making her resentment grow.
The straw that broke the camel's back was when she was told that her parents later went bankrupt and her father and mother had already committed suicide due to the huge debt they had accumulated.
She was told that her parents had come to beg Cosimo, who remained indifferent to their pleas. And the maid managed to give her evidence which was sent over by Ryan.
All this gave her a huge blow, and finally she begged Clide and Ryan for help.
That was when they conspired that she would poison Cosimo to death, only for her to refuse as she was timid. Then they later decided she would steal documents that would implicate Cosimo, who was, after all, running a gang.
She was not successful enough before she was told that Clide had been killed by Cosimo.
This further cemented that killing Cosimo was not wrong, as he was a murderer. So she sent the maid to inform Ryan that she would poison him with a slow-acting poison, as she wanted him to feel pain, and she would also send over the file.
The poison was delivered to her by the maid, and she managed to coax Cosimo into releasing her. She patiently started acting as if she cared about him, sending him coffee laced with a small amount of poison when he was busy in the study late at night.
With all this, she was finally able to get the document Ryan wanted, which she told the maid to send to him.
After this, she noticed Cosimo became increasingly busy, coming home very late at night, with him not being at home most of the time.
One morning she happened to meet him having breakfast, and she saw him looking very haggard. But she was happy, as the maid gave her good news the night before: Ryan had been promoted from an unknown officer to the head of his station.
One morning she woke up to find the familiar maid had changed, and she was told that the previous maid was a spy and had been caught.
Alia's heart almost jumped out of her throat when she was called to the basement she never knew the house had, and she witnessed the killing of a person.
This incident made her fear and disgust for Cosimo rise, but she only dared to show fear, which was real, on her face.
Finally, the effect of the poison began to show in Cosimo as he became more violent and fainted, coughing out blood in his study.
On this day she finally thought she was free from Cosimo and could finally be with Ryan. She was killed by Cosimo, who ran her over with bloodshot eyes.
In her final moment, a voice asked her if she could go back, would she still want to be the be with Cosimo again.
