"Apart from the high level gods and goddesses where there is usually only one of each for certain things such as Hephaestus being the only high level goddess of blacksmithing, there are generally a handfull of mid level gods and goddesses and hundreds of low level gods" Aurathis explained
"I was a mid level goddess of training due to the fact that I was also the goddess of women, having more than one area that you are in charge of generally is the difference between the different levels of godhood which is why Zeus is so powerful with all of the things that he was in charge of, with some exceptions such as Hades who is only in charge of the underworld and the dead but because of how important those areas are it makes him on the same level as his brothers" she continued
"Aren't you a high level goddess like Hestia and Hephaestus though?" Nero asked
"I am now but I wasn't always" she answered "now let me continue"
"Obviously not being the only one who watched over mortals training and with the gods having a rule of not interfering without reason, we all had time on our hands, and I don't know if it was just because I was new at the time or if my mindset is different to the other gods and goddesses but compared to them, I actually enjoyed training, I liked the feeling of being able to improve from day to day, even if it was only by a small amount"
"I always made sure to relax after training, eat well and generally enjoy life, but not everyone was like me" she sighed "many gods had egos as big as the entire world, especially when it comes to a woman being better than them, so when I caught the attention of some of the higher leveled gods and goddesses many of thme became jealous and so started training even harder than I did"
"I personally at the time thought this was a good thing" Aurathia stated with a wry smile "a bit of friendly competition to push each other further, with me slowly ramping up my training within reason" her face turning dark "but like I said not everyone thought the same way that I did"
"It wasn't long before things started to go downhill, and by downhill I mean straight off a cliff" Aurathia breathed "some of the gods tried to steal ambrosia to improve their physiques and were caught, leading to being imprisoned for life, then there were a few low level gods who tried to train harder and for longer than I did in order to surpass me, something that even their divine physiques couldn't withstand, some of them being injured to the point that they lost their godhood and had to be sent to be reborn as a human in order to survive"
Bringing her head up to look Nero in the eyes with a sad expression "Alot of the gods and goddesses that got to that point had a similar look to you on their faces, and back then I ignored it due to not knowing any better, now that I do, I'm not letting you go down the same path as they did, they thought they could keep going just because they were gods, the same way that you think that you can keep going because of your system, and I'd rather banish you from the Familia before I have to see someone go through what they did again"
Hearing Aurathia's story Nero could only sit there in shock, he had expected a story from her past and had even braced himself to hear about some guy she used to be with and how he tried to keep up with her training and got injured and blamed her for it, but he never expected that it wasn't even connected to her directly, but because of her potential many gods and goddesses had pushed themselves to far and that it had been something that Aurathia had always remembered
"After we lost so many training gods and goddesses there was a void that had to be filled, and as the best choice it was decided that I was to be elevated to the level of high goddess, once I became a high level goddess that's when I started interacting with Hestia, Hephaestus, Loki, Freya and the other gods and goddesses, people who would follow my training schedules or run away from them, something that brought me more joy now than competing against the other gods and goddesses" taking Nero's hand in hers "it's why I was so happy when I came down here and found someone like you, someone who not only was someone who I could train, but I could train as I liked, that's why I don;t want to lose you to you pushing yourself to far, even gods can fall if they do"
"I'm sorry Aura" Nero looking down at their hands and squeezing hers "I feel the same way as you do in that I enjoy training, I like getting to see my stats increase and getting new abilities, it was because of this I wanted to train harder and overdid it, the energy required for me to summon a new trainer had been filled up, but I couldn't summon a new one until I had finished my current training, as such I pushed myself because I wanted new powers and was excited about the thought of them, but also annoyed at the fact that I couldn't do so until I had finished with my latest trainer, relying to much on the powers of my system like you said and pushing myself to hard" looking at her straight in the eyes "I promise I will not let it happen again"
Seeing the serious look in his eyes Aurathia's body seemed to loose alot of tension, as if she had been worried for Nero the entire time that he would make the same mistake, a small smile finally appearing back on her face "I'll hold you to that" flicking him playfully on the forehead "now get some sleep, depending on how you seem to be tomorrow I might let you get out of bed to do some stretches" she joked
"Sure thing Aura, glad that you're back to your usual self, goodnight" Nero smiled
"Goodnight Nero, it's good to be back to normal" a true smile floating onto her face as she slowly and carefully closed the door, the whole mansion seeming to be alot calmer all of a sudden as its residents all closed their eyes.
