"Which one do you think is the most terrifying?" Aldes asked. He rested both of his elbows on the white table.
Leafa cleared her throat softly. A subtle friction sound from her throat broke the silence of the room. "Perhaps dragons."
They began discussing the contents of the thin black-covered book on geopolitics.
"Like i said, They use a clan system and rely on the purity of their bloodline," Leafa explained. She tapped her fingernails slowly on the table surface. "Their magic is very diverse. Ranging from blood manipulation, seeing the future, destiny manipulation. The rest is too much for me to explain."
Aldes instantly leaned his body forward. His chest and stomach pressed against the edge of the table. "Manipulation of what?"
"Destiny," Leafa answered with a calm facial expression. "We do not know how they do it. The past kings realized the existence of that magic. They wrote it in public records so we all know. But the king died before writing down how the dragon race does it."
Aldes swallowed his saliva. A cold sensation crept up the back of his neck. He focused his gaze toward Leafa. "Can they travel through time?"
Leafa shook her head slowly. "That possibility is very small." Her voice tone dropped lower.
"The rest are vampires, Rituk, Eld Dwarf, and Demons," Leafa continued. She pointed her index finger at Aldes. "Rituk is a kingdom containing half human and monster or animal creatures."
Aldes chuckled softly. Air exhaled from his nostrils. "Thank you for the information."
Aldes pulled his back away from the table and sat up straight. "As for the remaining human kingdoms. Who are they?"
"The Vlamis Kingdom, Viortta, and our kingdom, Elfier," Leafa said. She folded both of her hands neatly on her lap.
"Why are there only three?" Aldes asked. His eyes investigated the woman's facial expression.
"I do not know." Leafa stared straight back, meeting Aldes's gaze. "I do not yet have access to the historical records."
"What is our position among them?" Aldes asked again.
"We work together with them as usual. Sending resources to each other and conducting export import activities," Leafa answered.
"Enemies?"
"We are in a neutral position," Leafa answered quickly. "They need our resources and we also need their resources."
Aldes stared right into Leafa's purple eyes. "How about our cooperation with the dragons?"
"Witch power. Food, clothing, and magic crystals," Leafa answered. "That is what we provide for them."
Aldes nodded in understanding. He leaned his back fully against the backrest of the chair.
Alright. Perhaps this information is enough. If I ask too many questions, she will get suspicious and realize I am not from this world, Aldes muttered in his heart. He broke eye contact with Leafa and lowered his gaze.
Besides, there is something odd about this neutral position. Vlamis and Viortta could just form an alliance to forcefully seize our resources. There must be something or someone extremely powerful in this palace holding them back.
Aldes pushed his chair backward. His boots scraped against the white floor. He stood up straight. "Alright. Enough." He pulled the corners of his lips to form a friendly smile. "Thank you. I understand easily."
Leafa raised both of her arms upward. She stretched her shoulder and back muscles. The fabric of her uniform pulled tight following her body posture.
"Anything for my sweet student," Leafa said.
