Hajin stood on the underside of the world, feet planted on a slab that pointed entirely the wrong way. Across the chasm his household crouched upside down on the true floor, Juna glaring up with her tail bristling.
"Why are you standing on the ceiling, Idiot?" she yelled across the gap.
"You're the ones on the floor, Mutt, I'm the normal one!" he yelled back.
Loccy pressed a hand to his shoulder, "Your bandage is soaked through, Hajin, sit down before you fall off the world."
"I'll sit when the world stops spinning," he said.
Cessy leaned over the edge, "Darling, the drop is bottomless, I counted to forty and gave up."
Ferra rapped her knuckles on the slab, "At least this part's solid, I'll give the builders that."
Loccy, Nyra, Ferra and Cessy stood at his back on the same slab, clinging to the iron rings. Below them Juna, Didi, Vella, Rumi and Nari braced on the true floor as the fortress tilted between.
"Aria, tell me you have a plan," he said.
