Kuravel dragged herself across the ruined floor, humming, four milky eyes fixed on the girl before Hajin. Loccy dropped to one knee, sliding an arm under his chest, hauling him upright against her shoulder.
"Bun, I can't feel my legs," he rasped, "I can't aim from the floor."
"Then I'll be your legs," she said, "tell me where to stand."
"Hold me up and point me at that big middle eye, I'll do the rest."
Hearthfall hit the paving, Burdenfall blooming around her feet, turning her into a pillar he could lean on completely. The Chain stiffened into a Pike across his palms, its tip trembling as it found the spider's central eye.
"Hush now, little—" the spider crooned, her cracked face lifting toward the girl.
"Chain Pike," Hajin breathed, "Starfall Needle."
The Pike flew straight and true, crossing the broken floor in a single silver breath before it struck. It pierced the central eye to the hilt, silencing the drowsy lullaby for good, like a snapped string.
