Chapter 1 - Rebirth in the Gears of Magic

[SCENE START]INT. MURSIO ESTATE - LIVING ROOM - DAYSunlight streams through biological window panes that pulse faintly like living tissue.HIRIA (7 years old, but speaking with the inner thoughts of HECTOR, a grown man) sits at a wooden table. He holds a mechanical comb, carefully dragging it upward through his spiky, vibrant blue hair. He stares into a mirror. His eyes are solid pools of glowing cyan—no pupils, just pure light.HIRIA: (V.O. / Inner Thoughts) Death by a malfunctioning server rack on Earth. That's how Hector died. But here? I'm Hiria Mursio. No pupils, hair that defies gravity, and a world where magic is basically organic technology. I'm still trying to get used to it.GARETH strides into the room, a massive blade strapped to his back. The hilt is wrapped in pulsing carbon-fiber tendons. He laughs boisterously, slapping Hiria on the back.GARETH: Stop worrying about your hair, boy! A true Mursio focuses on the blade, not the mirror!ELENA follows closely behind, holding a vial of glowing green nanites. She smiles warmly, her hand glowing with a soft, diagnostic HUD that hovers over her palm.ELENA: Leave him be, Gareth. He's just keeping himself presentable. Though, Hiria, dear, you've been combing that same spot for twenty minutes.MARA stands perfectly still in the corner, her arms crossed, watching with a sharp, calculating gaze.MARA: Master Hiria's hair requires precise calibration to maintain its vertical structural integrity, Mistress Elena. I have ensured his comb is properly pressurized.Hiria sets the comb down, sighing inwardly.HIRIA: Thank you, Mara. Father, Mother... I am ready for today's training.Suddenly, the biological window shatters. A swarm of rogue cyber-drones crashes into the living room, their metallic legs clicking against the floor.Gareth draws his blade instantly, the organic tendons on the hilt tightening as they link with his nervous system.GARETH: Get back! Elena, shield the boy! Before Gareth can strike, the front door bursts open. YURTO charges in, his eyes blazing with absolute conviction. He wears shifting, iridescent organic tech-armor that molds seamlessly to his muscles.YURTO: Never lose hope! We fight until the last spark fades!Yurto leaps forward, his armor extending sharp, chitinous blades from his forearms. He slices through a drone, fluid leaking from its cybernetic joints.Following slowly behind him is ZORA, slouching, his posture unnerving. He lets out a low, raspy, unsettling giggle that makes everyone uncomfortable. Zora lifts his right arm—it isn't a normal arm, but a grotesque, pulsing gun-organism fused to his flesh.ZORA: Hehehe... look at them squirm. Do you think they feel pain when I do this? Let's find out.The gun-organism on Zora's arm twitches, breathing heavily like a lung, before firing a barrage of hyper-dense plasma spikes. The spikes obliterate three drones instantly. Zora strokes the fleshy barrel of his arm lovingly.ZORA: Good boy. Yes, you like that, don't you?HIRIA: (V.O. / Inner Thoughts) Okay, Yurto is an absolute intense hero type, but Zora... Zora is a complete creep. Why are we traveling with a guy who sweet-talks his own arm?A massive drone targets Hiria, its laser sight locking onto his solid cyan eyes. Hiria tenses, trying to channel his nanite magic, but he's too slow.Suddenly, a blinding white light fills the room. ASHER descends through the shattered ceiling. Massive, metallic angel wings expand from his back, feathers humming with electromagnetic energy. He sweeps his wings forward, creating a kinetic barrier that vaporizes the remaining drones.Asher lands gracefully, his wings folding back into a sleek backpack apparatus. He looks over his shoulder, his expression calm and angelic.ASHER: The perimeter is secure. Are you unharmed, Hiria?Hiria blinks his pupil-less cyan eyes, picking up his comb from the floor and sliding it back into his pocket. He looks at his wild parents, his robotic maid, a shonen protagonist, a gun-wielding weirdo, and a techno-angel.HIRIA: I'm fine, Asher. Just... still trying to take all of this in.Yurto thrusts a fist into the air, his organic armor glowing brightly.YURTO: Then let's move forward! Tomorrow brings a new dawn, and we will defend it together!Hiria groans softly, pulling his comb back out to fix a stray blue hair.HIRIA: (V.O. / Inner Thoughts) Yeah. I definitely have a lot to get used to.[SCENE END]
