Chapter 10 - A walk beyond the walls

Luca's POV

The morning after Cordelia opened her heart to us felt lighter. We were all still in the living room, drinking coffee and talking softly. She looked more relaxed than I had ever seen her. Her eyes were bright, but there was a new restlessness in them.

Cordelia suddenly put her cup down and looked at all five of us. "I don't want to stay inside the house all day. I've been in this room, in that bed, for days now. I want to see everything. The ranch, the fields, the woods… all of it. I need fresh air and space to move."

We all looked at each other. Pablo smiled first. "Of course. This is your home now. You should see every part of it."

Sergio nodded. "Good idea. But not all of us at once. The horses get nervous with too many alphas around them."

Pedro looked at me and grinned. "Luca should take her. He's the best with the horses and knows every trail."

Nolan and Pablo quickly agreed. "Yes, Luca. You take her today."

I laughed and shook my head. "You all just volunteered me so you can finish the work in the training room, didn't you?"

They didn't even deny it. They just smiled.

Cordelia turned to me with that beautiful, slightly proud smile. "So, Luca… will you show me our land?"

The way she said "our land" made my chest feel warm. I stood up and offered her my hand. "I'd love to."

She took my hand without hesitation. We went upstairs so she could change into jeans and one of my soft black shirts that looked big and cute on her. When she came down, her hair was tied in a ponytail and her eyes were shining with excitement.

We walked out the back door together. The sun was warm, the sky clear blue. I led her first to the stables.

"Wow…" Cordelia breathed as she saw the big wooden barn and the green fields stretching far behind it. "You really have a whole ranch?"

"We do," I said proudly. "We raise horses and grow some vegetables. It keeps the pack busy and strong."

I introduced her to the horses. She was nervous at first but quickly fell in love with a gentle brown mare named Bella. I helped her feed Bella an apple. The way Cordelia laughed when the horse took it gently from her hand made my heart skip.

"You're good with her," I told her.

She stroked Bella's neck. "I like animals. They don't judge you for being bold or different."

We saddled two horses, Bella for her and my big black stallion, Shadow, for me. I helped her mount carefully, then we rode slowly across the fields. The wind blew through her hair and she looked so free and happy. Nothing like the guarded girl we found in the rain.

As we rode, she asked many questions. About how we built the ranch, how we made money, what life was like before they found her. I answered every one honestly.

At one point we stopped near a small river that ran through the property. We tied the horses and sat under a big tree. Cordelia leaned against me, her head on my shoulder.

"This is nice," she said softly. "I was scared I would feel trapped here. But being outside with you… it feels good. Like I can breathe."

I wrapped my arm around her. "You will never be trapped, Cordelia. Not with us. If you want to ride every day, we'll make time. If you want to plant flowers or learn to fight or just walk around naked,we'll support you."

She laughed. "Naked might be fun… but only in the bedroom."

We stayed there for a long time, talking and laughing. I told her funny stories about when we were younger and how Pedro once fell into the river trying to catch a fish. She told me more about her little sister Lila and how she used to dream of having a big open place like this.

When the sun started to go down, we rode back slowly. Her cheeks were pink from the sun and wind. She looked more alive than ever.

Back at the house, the others were waiting on the porch. They smiled when they saw how happy she looked.

"How was it?" Pedro asked.

"Perfect," Cordelia answered, still holding my hand. "Luca is a good guide. Patient. Funny. And he didn't try to boss me around even once."

I grinned. "She's a natural rider. We're going out again tomorrow if she wants."

We all had dinner together outside on the big wooden table. Cordelia sat in the middle, talking and laughing with everyone. She looked like she truly belonged here now.

Later that night, as we lay in bed, she curled up against my chest and whispered, "Thank you, Luca. Today was the first day I felt really free here."

I kissed her forehead. "There will be many more days like this. I promise."

My heart felt full. Our bold, beautiful omega was finally starting to open up and enjoy her new life with us. And I was lucky enough to be the one who showed her the ranch today.

This was only the beginning of many beautiful days together.
